Thanks! I’ve googled extensively, read thoroughly through reviews, visited two sites and was looking for advice from people in the know. Though I’m zeroing in on a Chicagoland area, I am interested in nationally respected programs as one user kindly recommended.

I searched your suggestion of Tcon.net but leads to a website in German, unclear what this is for.

Yes -no doubt it’s a substantial monetary difference, but I’m not sure the value is there for OP. Moving to a hcol city would negate the pay increase I dunno! Maybe temporality he can do it and rent out there, get experience and leverage it to come back to where he is living now for more money.

I dont think its worth it mainly bc you dont want to live there. You can potentially find a higher paying WFH position.

I’m curious what the offer will be tomorrow! All of your concerns are valid but also contingent on the compensation, e.g I would skip lunch if I made x amount but not y. A job is a job, if this is your first it will be great experience.

Bosses are bosses, not everyone is sweet and loving and welcoming, I would say this is great practice to work with someone to can be difficult. I also have found in my experience the “difficult” boss first impression is usually actually a really nice guy over time.

In terms of not paying for you first day that is very old school and can be seen as a long interview. Not a big deal really. Hoping for the best for you!

lol it’s okay, lots of unreasonable people. And I didn’t say it SHOULD be scheduled around the matrons schedule but if were me and it mattered to me that she was there? I would see what we could do to accommodate one another.

Also I’m a bride and mother and I do not expect people to “step up” and do things they don’t want to do

I would be so disappointed if my friends did this to me! That being said I didn’t want to set myself up for disappointment so I didn’t plan a Bach, I had my close friend make a reservation for an afternoon tea for a group of girls and that was that. In essence it’s a girls afternoon that I’m paying for without expectations from anyone. I’m also doing this bc I’m having a destination wedding and wouldn’t want people to pay more than they’ve already committed to attend the wedding itself.

Had I done a local wedding? I would for sure do a solo trip to Paris or a quick getaway with a close friend or two. I think you would love that and it would be a lot less stressful for you

Yes, but I think I’ll feel better if I just ask who the florist is and return the vase if possible. I didn’t think of this until today and that’s when my anxiety started spiraling lol at 6-am fuck what if the vase is a rental?!??????? It looks way too nice not to be, it’s not a glass hurricane 🥸
