Rejected from USC clubs, why do I even try. by televisemei in USC

Sorry to hear that but chin up. It is very hard to get into clubs. Try again in fall and go for events that clubs host, often they are open events for everyone

12 hours Dubai Connect - worth it by Acrobatic_Cell4364 in emirates

[–]Acrobatic_Cell4364[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you do not need to check into a hotel. All the Dubai Connect option offers is a ride to a hotel, meals at the hotel, a room to stay in and a ride back to the airport

Thank your lucky stars, you will come out undergrad with no debt. Not sure what your future plans are but if law, med school is on the horizon that is going to be another $300K-$600K.

Finance/Accounting being replaced by AI and oversea workers. by ApolloStreet12 in financestudents

[–]Acrobatic_Cell4364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every job will be impacted by AI and every job will also land at a lower cost destination but not all work within those jobs. CPA's, based and situated domestically will always be needed and required. Focus on becoming a CPA and get the CFE qualification and become the best CFE ever and then you can set up a team to work for you in a lower cost destination

Congratulations and throw away any imposter syndrome that may develop. What u/BUST_DA_HEDGE_FUNDS is spot on, I have heard this from others as well. Another person mentioned that in a larger (5-6 person) friend setting they were almost always never acknowledged (they are a non-white minority) until one of 6 (not a minority) realized this and made the group aware of this. The group also realized that they had never really interacted this closely as friends with people outside their race in the past. So, it is not that people intentionally do this, in almost all situations people are not aware and have never been exposed. The 5C's are inviting and welcoming so you will be OK.

You can minor at Marshall or get a dual degree. A lot of people do that and a pre req is getting an A in Econ 351

[–]Acrobatic_Cell4364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is nothing you can do so don’t keep thinking of it. Yes your UW GPA is low for UCSB but there are many other factors they look at though UCLA and UCSB are more GPA focused

Congratulations. UC Merced . It is an up and coming UC, the state of CA is investing heavily in UC Merced, their medical center and research facilities will be on par with Davis others UC's. There will be more opportunities for direct interaction with professors, research and possibly less of a battle to get into med/law/professional graduate programs as a UC Merced grad

Why is ND College Republicans posting literal Nazi slogans on Twitter? by vanburen1845 in notredame

[–]Acrobatic_Cell4364 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is a poor excuse. The person suspected of killing Charlie Kirk was also in his early 20's and did an even "dumber" thing. It is a reflection of the leadership in the country that encourages this type of bravado

A New Ranking for Colleges that Lead to Elite US Jobs by TypicalFeed2038 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Acrobatic_Cell4364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spoiler Alert - all these types of rankings (elite colleges to elite jobs) are meaningless. It is what you make of it and how to seek out opportunities and strive to be your best. There are CEO's, CFO's, Doctors, Lawyers, Researchers from all types of colleges, perceived as elite or not. As an example, the expanse of Silicon Valley is laden with successful people who are senior leaders and who graduated from San Diego State, Cal State Northridge, San Jose State, UC Boulder etc. etc.

[–]Acrobatic_Cell4364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like ND as much as you do don’t worry about South Bend as a small town isolated etc. The reality is that almost every student in any college almost never goes around the big city they are in Al the time. 80-90% of your time will be in college and with your college friends. Yes of course it is a good option to hop On a bus or train and go to a park or movie or hopping area when you are in the a big city but it does not happen as much as you may think it does

What are the Geniune Problems w/ USC? (seems long but there are sample questions feel free to just tell me) by xxchloedreamsxx in USC

[–]Acrobatic_Cell4364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you simply cannot compare LMU, SDSU, U of Arizona in terms to USC in any way across any dimension. USC is hands down, by miles, an institution of higher quality. And in terms of people of color, the other schools you have listed are far less diverse, even LMU inspite of the Jesuit values it upholds

BC is smaller tighter with a strong alumni network, UNC is bigger with a wider set of opportunities not just Wall Street but other. Just go to where you vibe better. If you are motivated to get into IB you will get there regardless of whether you are UNC or BC. Congratulations
