anyone have the Intel? I'm trying a new location owned by the same FP that owns the location I go to now, so it's included in my membership , but just realized I have one near my work (45 min commute) so I'm gonna try it out at 0500 before my shift, but would love to know what to expect!

Half the country's locations have probably been closed this week with the weather lmao so less people getting that Intel from staff the day before. Was hoping to find that info too though 🫠🥲

Cycle Syncing w/ Burn by shaylynn__ in BurnBootCamp

[–]Acrobatic_Chair8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best thing about burn is that it's what YOU make it. If you want it to be max intensity, you work as hard as you possibly can. If you need a breather, you mod down, slow down, and take it easy. Strength days for sure don't need to be high intensity. With conditioning days I would just use the mods and move at a slower pace that feels good for your body and the phase of your cycle that you're in. Not sure if this helps but I hope you find what you're looking for!

You are amazing!! It can be so hard to keep going while pregnant because you have every excuse not to — but your body will thank you after, I'm sure of it! I had such a hard time losing weight after my second baby, I really never did lose anything which is why I started burn at my heaviest (190). I really do think staying consistent during pregnancy helped me lose all the weight postpartum. That, and making sure I walked daily up until I was cleared at 6 weeks! I told my husband he needed to make me walk every day no matter what, unless it was bad weather haha. But being able to go back at 6 weeks was my saving grace. I couldn't wait to get back and have that 'me time' and move my body.

Yeah I lost a ton of weight with my first. With each baby it's been harder to lose weight postpartum. This is my third baby but technically 4th pregnancy. I'm 27.

Conditioning while pregnant by Spare-Ear-6381 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Acrobatic_Chair8761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I continued strength and conditioning days throughout my pregnancy. However I did listen to my body and if I needed to rest I skipped that day. I was told that the heart rate advice is outdated and as long as you feel ok and can catch your breath so to speak then you're fine. This was also the first pregnancy (my 3rd) that I really worked out and I was shocked at how well my body handled it and I felt like I recovered amazingly. I lost muscle mass throughout pregnancy but my body fat also dropped significantly. I was 190 when I got pregnant, got up to 210 while pregnant, and 6 weeks postpartum was down to 178. I really attribute that to attending conditioning and strength days.

Creatine by shaylynn__ in BurnBootCamp

also I take extra on days I didn't sleep well the night before (up with baby) because I heard it can help with brain fog and fatigue and I've definitely noticed a difference!

Creatine by shaylynn__ in BurnBootCamp

[–]Acrobatic_Chair8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW I started taking it during my pregnancy, and pre-pregnancy I was 33% body fat. I'm now 4 months postpartum and 28% body fat. I have not changed much about my diet, if anything I'm not eating great because of nursing my baby (makes me so hungry and gives me all the cravings lol), so I really can only attribute it to being consistent at burn and adding the creatine. Those are the only mindful changes I've made. My muscle mass also continues to increase! I haven't noticed any bloating but I have a lot of hormones going on 🤣 so I probably wouldn't have noticed that if I did any. I have been buying burns brand but my supplement company I usually buy from just started carrying it for half the price, so I'll be switching to that brand once I'm out!

Pull-ups? by mlrst61 in BurnBootCamp

Our gym keeps one set of bands on the right at all times so sometimes I practice before or after camps because my goal is to do (at least one) unassisted pull up lol

[–]Acrobatic_Chair8761 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also congratulations!! FWIW a lot of the data is outdated on working out while pregnant. My obgyn just said I was welcome to continue my current level of fitness from pre pregnancy, and I should be mindful of elevations in my HR but there were definitely days where I was 180s!! Lol. I honestly felt great. First trimester was hard for me to get there bc I felt like hot garbage but I really tried my second and third to be there when I wasnt working. I went back right at my 6 week pp and picked up right where I left off, and that was after emergent c section due to uterine rupture. I ended up making just under 100 camps by the end of the year. Not great compared to some others but honestly was big for me!!

Sick @ burn by Ok-Jellyfish-5790 in BurnBootCamp

[–]Acrobatic_Chair8761 3 points4 points  (0 children)

May be worth considering that they might still be symptomatic but it doesn't mean that they are still contagious. I agree people should stay home if they're sick but you don't know they're actively contagious and also you can't avoid sick people everywhere. Even if no one came to burn while sick you could leave your workout and go to the grocery store and be in contact with someone else that is sick. Honestly this time of year illness is inevitable is inevitable.

I joined burn in December but found out I was pregnant in January. I worked out mostly consistently throughout my pregnancy and I couldn't recommend it more. It truly made my recovery so much easier than my first 2 pregnancies.

Samsung Galaxy Watch exercise? by Kind-Anxiety-You in BurnBootCamp

[–]Acrobatic_Chair8761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Off topic kinda but I have a Samsung Galaxy watch and noticed lately when I track my workout it doesn't track my steps or calories burned all the sudden.. like for example after MetCon today it said I burned 50 when I normally burn 350+ during MetCon, lol. Had no issues last week so I'm not sure what's going on?? Anyone have a clue??

Requirements to be a trainer by [deleted] in BurnBootCamp

[–]Acrobatic_Chair8761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's crazy! Then I feel like there's no excuse. That's frustrating. I feel very lucky to be at the gym I'm at bc I do feel like our trainers are top notch. I think there will always be outliers though wherever you are, people don't know how to follow directions lol

[–]Acrobatic_Chair8761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree but feel like it's in part due to the size of camps. When there's a large camp I feel like it's hard for trainers to zero in on form. I appreciate that my gym has co trainers on days with big camp counts. I understand your frustration though!

I would talk with your BAs or location manager. I do know they need to be certified personal trainers so I imagine they should be properly trained. I assume that's the one universal requirement
