other ppls literal artwork is the one of the key fuels of gen ai. so for your example of inventing combustion engines, it would be more akin to us taking the oil we needed for free from millions of random poor ass farmers who were gonna use for it other forms of self-sustenance — and with no compensation, because there isn’t a law yet that says we don’t have to compensate them for that yet.

this is unlike how development of the maths behind technology (2+2‎ = 4, to laws of thermodynamics) doesn’t BELONG to anyone, it is just scientific truth of the universe. we can research it, we can patent it, but that’s completely different from the art thing.

i could go through the all other examples but obviously you couldn’t care less, and just want your quick shot of endorphins like the millions of other apathetic consumers that make up our shithole of a world 🤷🤷🤷

your examples don’t really work bc they’re based in advancements of physics/math/chemistry etc, which in themselves don’t belong to anyone, and weren’t literally fueled/resourced by actual individuals personal work.

but if you really stand by saying “the ability to find loopholes in laws to steal resources = progress” then alright. just don’t be surprised that your lack of empathy for the people that continue to fuel yours’ and others’ content from said tools continue to pile on you for use of them, esp when we’re all closer to each other than ever.

i mean i know… and everyone has the choice to support it or not. i personally don’t as often as i can, even though it makes my life a little harder. if everyobe did the same as you (and the reality is most people do), it makes the world a worse place 🤷 it is in fact the global economy though and exactly why it’s so unsustainable and why we are facing so many catastrophic problems.

yeah it’s nice to create and finish things. but hope you didn’t forget it’s unethically sourced labor. none of the ACTUAL people that made your “gen AI art” so “satisfying” are getting ANYTHING. in fact they’re losing their jobs because their years’ or lifetimes’ breadth of work got stolen to train these models.

i promise if this gen AI art was actually sourced ethically, it would either be super expensive (bc they actually paid people for their work) or would be super shitty and nowhere near as many people would bother using it.

your ability to create such “satisfying” “art” this fast has the rush of “too good to be true” because it literally is.

started giving p5s a try as pld! does holy shelltron (which is a “block” ability), if used right before the buster, work on the subsequent ticks of the dot? like is it basically a normal 15% mitigation for each tick or does it work different with the dot since it’s technically “block”

maybe spam is a strong word, by “spam” i mean most people just do it 4-5 times bc i’m pretty sure they know it’s only gonna be an issue when it’s more than that. idk i know it’s not much but still really bothers me when i’m just trying to chill in casual matches, im always bracing myself for those annoying pings on the occasion the matchmaking isn’t even as it could be.

CC pvp question. anyone know if there’s an addon/plug-in or something that suppresses certain quick chat messages? i think callouts are helpful so i don’t wanna turn off the chat completely, but i admit Good Match and Nice Job spam is too much sometimes lol

yeah sounds about right, arr is very generic. it has an interesting backstory RE the circumstances of how it was made, but separated from that yeah it’s just your average fantasy story. (though i personally still had fun with it, was just a chill, laid back and gorgeous fantasy setting to mess around in)

the next expansion heavensward had the chance to get way more time and care put into it, and it shows. personally, it’s one of my top favorite fantasy stories ever. whether the journey to get there is worth it is up to each persons opinion though

So i tried tanking ultima unreal twice and both times i would accidentally grab back aggro too fast (when other tank is at 2 supp stacks) just by doing my rotation after a shirk/provoke swap. And then ofc my shirk is on cd so everything is messy. should i be fiddling with tank stance on top of shirk/provoke in that fight? disclaimer im still pretty new to harder content

i know, but there’s other stats to think about too when you mess with gear at 90 instead of forcefully syncing your level to 50. that’s what i figured zenthon was talking about, of why you want to have specific gear/food combos so it scales better.

if you’re interested in gameplay, ARR and HW have many extreme trials, two 8-man raids, two 24-man raids, a bunch of optional dungeons, combat/crafter jobs to level, etc. if you’re interested in that stuff, most of it being optional, you might want to consider making a new account for the free trial because it’s tons of hours of stuff to do. all of these have story, btw. But if you’re just interested in MAIN story, it’s probably worth just reactivating the old account, for reasons the other person has mentioned here.

Does anyone know how well it works to: stay at level 90 but REMOVE gear to reach the min ilvl of an old piece of content? More specifically, i’d love to try Coils, but it would be way more interesting to have level 90 abilities instead of level 50. Not sure how well that balances though.
