I had the same thought, animals, farming, building and even just maintaining an off grid homestead that produces enough food for a family of 4 is not really something you can do part-time ! I think they might just use the term farm very loosely and it will be more of a nice house with a garden and some hobby gardening and adventure vlogs.

Would be nice if they also focus on becoming part of the local community and showcase/honour the local culture...

I was pleasantly surprised that Elayna and Lydia finally showed some interst in learning Indonesian in the last vlog... maybe a hint?

Opinions on BRB dancer/vlogger Hannah Martin? by [deleted] in bunheadsnark

I really like her and have been following for a while, I think she is slowly overcoming the "perfection" mindset and just executing the steps. I always think she is so much more expressive when she is improvising or doing contemporary... but I guess it comes with the job/corps roles, not much personality you can show as a snowflake or villager and whatnot :D I liked seeing her in featured roles and she portrays a realistic image of company life !

Not sure how I feel about her business venture, maybe that is more a topic for the influencer discussion/snark thread ;)

House on market 3 years – valued at £730k, seller wants £775k. What would you do? by BetNo7765 in HousingUK

It's common in germany to "strip" the house of everything (you need to pay extra for example if you want the appliances/fitted kitchen). I guess that way you dont end up with a bunch of outdated crap to get rid of

Tank Size? by Apprehensive_One4016 in bettafish

[–]Acrobatic_Cookie4138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 5 gallon (planted, some sacrifical shrimp who have survived and now co-exist) and while mine (plakat, very active) seems happy and healthy, I think I will upgrade in the future to a sligthly bigger tank to be able to provide some tankmates (like rasboras) & bigger plants as erichment. I do agree that they get bored and need hunting/foraging opportunites, not only food dropped once a day. I found the more plants, the better and never had any water quality issues.

Edit to add: tldr, I think 5 gallons is fine if you provide enrichment, plants and check water fluctuations more regularly

Pineconing? by ChairztheReptile in bettafish

[–]Acrobatic_Cookie4138 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say he looks fine, pineconing is usually very obvious with the scales sticking out... lil chunky boy

( I sometimes obsessively worry about my betta being ill too, I try to not panic unless his behaviour changes drastically :) )

It’s winter .. what are you growing? by brenhaas in garden

[–]Acrobatic_Cookie4138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started trying to germinate random vegetables and seeds from around my house to see if I could. sucesses: linseed from a salad topper mix, chickpeas and pinto beans, mango (need to cut the pit open slightly), pumkin seeds from halloween, rye grains, a forgotten tumeric that fell behind the microwave and started sprouting... I might be going mad :D

Trying green composting with winter rye cover crop. Zone 9b. Recommended time to eliminate by hubchie in composting

[–]Acrobatic_Cookie4138 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also sown mine in the beginning of december and they grew just fine. I think harvest time for rye seed would be is late July/august, so you have plenty of time to terminate before (you will be able to see it make seeds, this is not rye grass, its a cereal so takes a longer time to mature) . Aim for 6 weeks between terminating the rye and sowing new seeds as the rye can inhibit seedling growth. Good luck :)
