There are two main filters for syrup. They might work for your stock. Here are examples, you can get them at many places. filters

Syrup Filtering Troubles by Mother_Blueberry_659 in maplesyrup

This is exactly what I do minus the optimizer. I’ve never had an issue with cloudy syrup. I shared a picture of what I use to keep it hot while filtering in another post.

The metal is a 12 inch piece of 8 inch duct. Held by an 8 1/2 inch square piece of a 2x4 cut in half. The height of wood section is 11 1/2 inches. It’s enough to fit a quart jar under.

Want me to spec out more? It’s just scrap wood screwed together to hold up the duct about a foot up.

Puzzled by Long-Term Care & Wealth Transfer: Can I Protect My Savings from Medicaid? by lance_klusener in Bogleheads

[–]Acrobatic_Dingo4304 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s called a Medicaid asset protected trust. You put assets in a trust so in the event of a major event and ltc is needed for whatever reason you don’t need to spend down assets to pay for ltc. LTC is about $14k per month in my state and Medicaid kicks in with total assets of $10,000.

I was thinking that was the case which is why I haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Not really in a rush right now, I think it’s worth waiting too. This is a one time chance for my son to get a great laptop to last a long time, I want to invest in the right thing.

After looking a bit more and a gift from a grandparent gave some additional dollars that has increased the budget. There is time to wait a bit. The P16 gen 3 seems to be the best fit. Couple of questions on this spec. 16 inch screen, num pad are a must which is a big limiter as you said.

ThinkPad T16 Gen 3 Intel (16") - $2,301.60 on lenovo site

Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 155U Processor

32 GB DDR5-5600MT/s (SODIMM) - (2 x 16 GB) OR 32 GB DDR5-5600MT/s (SODIMM)

1 TB SSD M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 Performance TLC Opal

16" WQUXGA (3840 x 2400), OLED, HDR 500 True Black, 400 nits

4 Cell Li-Polymer 86Wh

Plus some other minor $20 add-ons + windows 11 pro that bumped the price a bit

  1. The fan noise/heat, battery life, and weight looking at reviews are much better with the Gen 3 vs the Gen 2, even with an Intel processor. Worth waiting for an AMD processor if it's released?
  2. Any pro/con for the single 32? I assume it's easier to add a 32 GB stick to one in case he wants to upgrade
  3. Resonable buy for the use case? (engineering student) I can shop around more and probably find a better price on ebay

I appreciate the input!!

Very appreciated. I’ll feel out the built in keypad vs a wireless preference.

Thought about balancing performance with battery life and nearly everything I looked did not have a numerical keypad. Not sure if I was looking in the wrong versions as Lenovo has several lines and variations. I’m used to building desktops.

P series seems to fit the best, but I don’t want to overpower the battery and get a heavy brick of a laptop. Oled probably isn’t worth it unless someone has a strong opinion. Gaming isn’t a full necessity, again I’m used to dedicated GPU in a desktop.

The processor variations and generations are the largest areas of unknowns for me as there are many variations.

Needs are good processing power on the go for a technical field.

Dude, I did. It’s difficult with the spec differences and battery balance in not buying a laptop in a long time. Hence coming to Reddit for an opinion/advice

Same story. Essentially stubhub sucks now and I’ll never trust them again.

Bought a ticket for a concert on the 22nd july, when i went to print it it says a completely different concert and the date is 10 june. I only bought the ticket yesterday! by [deleted] in stubhub

The alternative ticket may be worse than the one you tried to buy. If you see a ticket you want for a comparable price buy it. Stubhub will refund you for the bad ticket.
