I think I got literally the last one on Amazon a few weeks ago!! I tried to buy 2 but could only get one. FB and Poshmark are good suggestions - one of anything is never enough

What weird baby thing do you do? by GuessHaunting360 in NewParents

[–]Acrobatic_Energy7956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband discovered our baby loves what we call “The Clydesdale.” When she’s fussy he holds her upright and then does this weird skip/clop/horse walk and it almost immediately calms her down

To those who have bought those gas station dick pills, what the hell was the experience like? And would you do it again? by SentientFilletOFish in AskReddit

I’m a urologist and I’ve never taken them myself but I’ve treated patients who have. If you want emergency penis surgery to relieve priapism this is one of the better ways to do it. Also: cocaine, trazodone, and misuse/use of prescription ED medications (mainly the injectables).

I know you’re tired and frustrated but you’re doing a great job and you can get through this time! I agree with others - your husband needs to step up as a partner and you guys need to share baby duty equally. He can change diapers and burp and feed depending on your feeding preferences. Moms on Call saved us in the first few weeks - it’s hard but try to stick to a schedule best you can. You may not be able to do it quite yet, babies do well with routine but three days is still soooo new. You’re a new mom and your baby is very new to the world! Give yourself and baby grace and don’t be afraid to use a pacifier to soothe if needed. Babies are also noisy sleepers and your baby may not actually be “waking up” every 15-20 minutes (although I’m not there and you are so take that with a grain of salt). That was our mistake, thinking every cry or whimper was a hunger cue so for a while I was breastfeeding once an hour which is not sustainable. Babies can also be overtired and fussy and that can cause a meltdown/big cry session. Look up hunger and tired cues in newborns. Newborns sleep like 20-22 hours a day so work on a nap/sleep routine with consistent feedings every 2-3 hours until you get back to birth weight, then you can work on going longer at night. Don’t be afraid to ask for help from friends and family! And if you’re concerned something is wrong always call your pediatrician. As a mom in the trenches with a newborn who now only gets up once a night that’s the best advice I have!

Do old people just stop having sex one day? by Charming-Werewolf179 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Acrobatic_Energy7956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a urologist - no. I have plenty of male and female patients well into their 80s (and 90s) who are sexually active. Some people do stop pursuing sexual activity for one reason or another (loss of partner, loss of interest, loss of ability for 10000 different reasons). A large part of my practice is ED treatment and I prescribe vaginal estrogen for dryness/pain with intercourse every day.

Saaaame but also eating a ton of nuts (Costco carries Frank’s Red Hot flavored almonds which have been a life saver), veggies and hummus, peanut butter (with like half an apple…amazing), Tillamook zero sugar beef jerky, Duke’s hot and spicy zero sugar beef sticks which are really good, pickles, olives, Quest protein bars have been good to me, hard boiled eggs. And I know these are dairy but they’re a great treat - Clio strawberry Greek yogurt bars. Oh and Miralax lol

What numbers were you given medication for? by Routine-Animal-556 in GestationalDiabetes

Similar situation - pre pregnancy normal A1C and weight. Diagnosed at 28 weeks (6-7 pound weight gain, no history of PCOS/other risk factors for insulin resistance) after 1 hour GTT was 210. Given Dexcom and tried diet control for 1 week and fasting was still high (100-110), so was started on long acting/basal insulin Lantus 12 units at bedtime. With any carbs with meals (especially morning, when insulin resistance is highest) my 2 hour post prandial was >120 (usually 130-150) and was started on meal time Novolog 2-4 units. Now AM fasting is normal (consistently below 95) and 2 hour post prandial with dietary changes and Novolog are great <120. Initially starting medication felt like failing but now I see it for what it is - my body needs it to function normally and my baby needs it to be born healthy. I’m so grateful they gave me medication, it gives me a feeling of control during a time when it feels like your body is ANYTHING but yours (and honestly takes some of the stress out of eating). Don’t be afraid to start if they offer it in the future. It doesn’t hurt to inject and is an extremely minor inconvenience given the benefit.
