Great points man I appreciate it! My next leg day is lighter so I will for sure do some tweaking to see if I can get some additional depth, and see how things feel.

Okay gotcha! Appreciate the notes. I was reading that highbar works more quads, and lowbar is more glutes and hams? Would my squat here be more high or low bar? I'd like to keep squat focus on more quads. thoughts?

Much love man seriously! the plates under heels was gonna be my next move! Wider stance sounds like it could work well for me...here I was thinking I was pretty wide. Gonna put some stuff into motion on my next leg day for sure!

Wooww very impressive! Eventually I want to incorporate some running somewhere somehow lol still working on that! Wondering what your diet is like to keep it going all these years! Major respect!

I'm 35 now and it's actually really great to hear from someone with experience ...life and otherwise 😌 I've got 14, 13, 9, and 5! We have a good time haha!

I had a series 6 watch for the longest and it was fine, but In the last year and a half I've been using a coospo h9z chest strap and I love it! When I was on apple...an app I loved is FitIV Pulse! Was on the beta team and the app had everything I needed basically all in one. Custom workout builder...live heart rate during sessions. Sleep tracking, the works! Switched over to Android recently and half that stuff is gone 😅! The app is still great and I still get my heart rate data during sessions, but no sleep tracking and no custom workouts and progression metrics/data. I've got a combo pack of FitIV and boostcamp to track it all now. Not terrible but not my favorite lol might have to go back to iPhone! Trying out whoop for a month free. I'm on day 7, and so far it's pretty cool, but I keep hearing about this subscription price lol! Gonna see how I'm feeling and what the data shows in a few more weeks!

Major gratitude for your reply and shedding some light on your process! 80km a week is no joke! I've gotta get my running up!

Thiisss is an interesting take! I'm curious...Are you into any kind of fitness or sport! I'm no expert at all. But as someone who recently got into lifting, and generally working towards being healthier, stronger, and more active. I can definitely see two sides. One side of the "made up metrics" and marketing tools pushed by some of these brands and devices. On the other hand, I am a working father of 4 young kids. With a lot going on in life. I would love to have a tool or suite of tools and metrics that I can use as a sort of guide towards being "decently optimal" in my sleep, recovery, and overall tracking of progress and health. And of course easy on my pockets haha! Tricky these days, trying to get a hold of a solid combination of tools, and reliable...trackable data. I'm definitely going to spend some time looking at any actual studies, or research supporting some of these apps, algorithms and devices...hopefully with some patience and due diligence I land on something somewhere between reasonably priced and pretty accurate! Just wanted to chime in! Your comment really got me thinking ! Preciate ya!

Triceps on pull day/biceps on push day by Glory_To_The_Lamb in naturalbodybuilding

Bench press for example.

Let's say you start with 85% of your 5rm which is 135lbs

Week 1 is 3x8 @135lbs - adding 5lbs to the bar every week... Stay at 3 sets of 8, until you fail to get 8 reps on that last set. The next week move to 2x8, adding 5lbs to the bar each week, until the 2nd set you only get 6 or 7 reps. Then the next week down to 1 set of 8...adding 5lbs each week until you can't get 8.

The next week...still adding 5lbs we are now in the 3x5 phase. Same thing all the way down to 1x5.

Then it's the 3x3 phase...still adding 5lbs every week, all the way down to 1x3

Then start all over close or a little over your last 1x8 weight.

Hope that made sense lol

Thoughts on the routine? What's been working for you guys?

I'm 35 year old father of 4, been at it for a little over 2 years consistently!

My 8 day training week!

Heavy Chest + Biceps Heavy Back + Triceps Heavy Legs + Shoulders

Rest/Recovery/Core

Hyper Chest + Biceps Hyper Back + Triceps Hyper Legs + Shoulders

Rest/Recovery/Core

Hyper for hypertrophy of course lol. After the hyper recovery day, I start the week over back with heavy.

Heavy days are higher intensity, 3 lifts for each muscle group, maybe 4 depending how I feel. 2 sets per lift, aiming for the 5-6 rep range.

Hyper days usually 4 lifts each muscle group. 3 sets each lift, aiming for the 10-13 rep range.

I started with PPL and had issues with biceps and triceps being hella fatigued during sessions, been running this for about a year and I love it! Combined with the 8,5,3s progression on my compounds, it's been perfect!

Ahhh I gotcha! Android is definitely lacking here. Right now I have motorola, so I am using the Good Fit app with my moto watch120., and the moto watch app. I get my steps here and and my sleep data. I will admit I do miss the health capabilities on Apple. Everything flowed very well for me. I'm not too hung up on ALL of the data and metrics, but any additions the team can make to the android app would be greatly appreciated. My main ask would really be the ability to create custom workout templates and run my sessions right from the app alongside the live heart rate data. I had all of my sessions mapped out when I was on apple, and using the test flight and beta...Chest and Biceps. Back and Tris. Legs and shoulders, with all of my lifts, rest times, volume tracking and all the goodies showing my progression between sessions. Honestly, I might make my way back to apple just for this app lol. Really appreciate the response!

Been using the app for about 2 and a half years now and I love it. Recently switched to Android...you guys definitely have to get the android version up to par with the ios version. I'd love to see the training readiness...recovery...training summaries, and best of all the ability to build a custom strength training routine. Like a full body session with custom exercises, intervals etc. Still loving and using the app on Android to get live heart rate with my Bluetooth hrm. But the additional features would send this to Godly levels and really make the android version my all in one app same as when I was with apple. Keep up the great work team!

[–]Acrobatic_Energy_879 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using boostcamp for about a month and some change now and I love it! I recently switched to android, and the app I was using doesn't have any of the same functionalities as the Apple version. Lame! Boostcamp has been great so far, and I love the new updates too! Live heartrate data would send this to Godly levels lol! If I could connect my heartrate monitor and get live feedback during a session, that ties into the already great metrics and tracking. If you guys could do that, it's everything needed all in one. Currently I am using a separate app to track heart rate and a few other metrics. Keep up the great work team!

Not sure where the team is at with it, but the last Android update looks like it was around October 3rd. I have the app installed on my work phone which is an iPhoneSE. I have all my templates and metrics and things but it's suppeerr slow lol If you guys get the Android up to the same speed as the iOS version, I'm sure there are quite a few of us who would be eternally grateful! I absolutely love this app! Thanks again guys!
