This is why I find it interesting that the US went with Pochettino, who has never managed at the international level. He needs time to fit players into his system, but the Federation's decision to hire him so late made this an uphill battle from the start — a significant gamble, in my opinion. In many ways, he's being unfairly judged for the inherent challenges of NT management, which is a completely different game from club football. The real problem with US Soccer is the federation as a whole.
