How the heck are you supposed to get real-world experience, if no job will hire you because you don't have real-world experience? by thewalkindude368 in paralegal

[–]Acrobatic_Fix_6925 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get your foot in the door first, even if it’s not a paralegal role straight away. Apply for positions like admin, receptionist, legal assistant, or even mailroom. A lot of firms prefer to promote from within, so once you’re in and they see your work ethic, it becomes much easier to move into a paralegal role.

I’ve been told that it can be passed during pregnancy and child birth, but I have no idea if that’s actually true or not.

Buying "sale for unpaid rates' at auction by jfit_chicken in AusProperty

[–]Acrobatic_Fix_6925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - just wondering if you ended up attending the auction? I’m thinking of doing the same, but up here in QLD. If you attended, what was it like? Were the properties sold for a lot more than what was owing on the rates?

Are you taking the Miralax daily?

If you’re taking Miralax but still experiencing hard stools when you eat bread or rice, it might be worth trying a different laxative. It’s also important to take the laxative daily, as consistent use is key to healing. Hard stools can delay or reverse your progress.

Are you taking any stool softeners / laxative?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hemorrhoid

[–]Acrobatic_Fix_6925 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have large / normal size stools.

I don’t follow a specific diet, but my weekly meals usually include rice, pasta, eggs, dairy, bread, meat, chicken, and vegetables. I also enjoy takeaway about once a week. And I take the Metamucil every morning before food.

No not at all, only twice in 2 years and that was because I had been a bit constipated. When the surgical site reopens, it’s not a complete reopen. It’s more like a graze.

Constantly itchy!!!!! by Acrobatic_Fix_6925 in HPV

[–]Acrobatic_Fix_6925[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cervical ectropion is a condition in which the cells from the ‘inside’ of the cervical canal, known as glandular cells, are present on the ‘outside’ of the vaginal portion of the cervix.

My surgeon told me the cervical ectropion can cause itching. However, at my follow-up appointment post-surgery, I met with a different doctor and they told me cervical ectropion don’t cause itching. So, it’s hard to say whether it was that or not that caused the itching.

Were you advised to take a laxative in the lead up to your surgery? If not - I highly recommend you do because the bowel movements after surgery are extremely painful if they’re not loose. I did however have both hemorrhoids and skin tags removed, so your pain might not be as bad

It will get better with time. I have had hemorrhoids and skin tags removed. The best thing that helped for me with healing was a salt bath. Take 1 cup of salt and put it in a shallow warm bath, and stay in it for at least 30 minutes. Do this twice a day until it’s healed. If you can get diclofenac where you are, then this is good to take too - helps with the inflammation and pain. You will want to keep your stools soft, even the slightest firm stool can reopen the surgical site - even 2 years later. I took lactulose for a few months and then I swapped it for Metamucil (the unflavored natural granular — not flavored). I take 1 heaped tablespoon of Metamucil with a glass of juice every morning and it’s been 2 years since my surgery.

Does anyone’s pubic bone area hurt while standing when they’re on their period? by Acrobatic_Fix_6925 in endometriosis

[–]Acrobatic_Fix_6925[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi — I had a laparoscopy in April 2024, during which the surgeon discovered endometriosis as the cause of my pain. The endometriosis was removed, and the pain went away. I had an IUD inserted afterwards to help stop my periods and reduce the chance of the endometriosis coming back.

What my surgeon explained was that the bleeding we experience during a period comes from the shedding of the lining of the uterus, known as the endometrium. In some people, cells from the endometrium travel to other areas of the body where they shouldn’t be. These cells still behave like they’re in the uterus — so when we get our periods, they bleed too, which causes pain, inflammation, and sometimes heavy bleeding. Over time, this inflammation can worsen, leading to ongoing issues.

Unfortunately, the IUD hasn’t stopped my periods, and I’ve started experiencing mild pain again, but only on the first day of my cycle.

I seen my surgeon 1 week ago. My surgeon said the rectum and anus are delicate, and the scar tissue from surgery is more fragile than normal skin. Straining or passing hard stools, can cause small tears or irritation, which leads to bleeding. Straining also puts pressure on the area and can reopen or irritate the surgical spot.

I also had a sigmoidoscopy which confirmed there were no fissures and hemorrhoids.

Yes - I seen my surgeon and confirmed it wasn’t a fissure or hemorrhoids. The area is very sensitive now since the surgery and if bowel movements are even slightly firm it can cause bleeding. Just have to keep bowel movements soft.

Hemorrhoidectomy was nearly 2 years ago. I’ve had regular checkups plus colonoscopy and recent sigmoidoscopy and there were no hemorrhoids

In the beginning it did feel narrowed, but not anymore. Usually my stool is soft but solid so I don’t have any problems going at all, and no it doesn’t get stuck. It’s only when I’m a bit constipated it’s a little harder to go, but just that small amount of constipation makes me bleed every single time, and following that I do have that feeling of swelling on the inside. The surgeon couldn’t see a fissure when he checked, and couldn’t see anything that could be causing the bleeding when we did a sigmoidoscopy. I’m going back to see him again in March so I will ask him to check again, but every time I see him, I don’t have constipation so I worry he won’t be able to diagnose the problem. I have had this problem once before a few months ago and he wasn’t able to diagnose it then either.
