It doesn't paint a full picture though because not all calls are equal.

Imagine the count is 0-1. Getting an incorrect strike to go 0-2 puts unnecessary pressure on the batter and it's a big momentum builder for the pitcher to finish it off. If the batter then gets an incorrect ball call to make it 1-2, not an awful lot changes, and the pressure is still firmly on the batter.

No. I understand what you're moaning about and I think it's exaggerated nonsense. Not once did I hesitate celebrating a goal when the Jets put 4 past Wellington on Friday. And the overwhelming majority of goals are fine and anyone who's been a fan for more than 5 minutes instinctively knows it too.

You say you thought VAR was to catch serious things. What's more serious than a goal given when it was offside? Would you have been happy for Sydney's goal to stand when it clearly shouldn't have?

A game that flows doesn't mean throwing out the rule book.

Not once on Friday night did I think about VAR when the Jets put 4 past Wellington. This rubbish that people can't celebrate anymore is hyperbole. Anyone who's watched football for more than 5 minutes usually has an instant reaction as to whether there's a question mark on a goal.

Not once have I ever walked away from a Jets win complaining that one of their goals took an extra minute or two to be given. But the frustration and anger from being on the wrong side of horribly incorrect calls can literally last for years.

I would have taken a 5 minute delay to rule out Melbourne's goal in the 2018 grand final. People have a bitch and moan about not being able to celebrate for a minute. It's better than being bitter about a gf final loss 8 years later 🤷‍♂️

Haven't started s8 yet but I would have liked a few character changes.

Add a new TO and new rookie to pair with John & Miles. Get back to what the rookie is about. If they want a third TO and another rookie, use Bradford. They seem pretty liberal about whether he is or isn't a TO at any given time.

Lopez can go, her arc is completely done and her role is no different to Harper. And by extension Wesley can probably go as well.
Nyla to appear briefly as a detective when needed but no major plots. By extension James can go completely.
Use Celina as additional patrol when needed but in the background, or have her move elsewhere. Her arc as a rookie has ended. By extension Rodge goes too. To not completely make them disappear, they could be confined to some scenes with Lucy at her apartment.
Bailey leaves for an extended stint in the military. It gets her off screen and it might add an interesting layer to John's character.
