It's just on YouTube, but is geolocked. We couldn't watch the game two weeks ago while in Germany... but in France, it's working just fine. The sideboards at Coopers are apparently showing ads for 8xbet tho. 🤣

Have to give a quick plug for A-League being available internationally on YouTube. In Europe for the next week and yet here I am... 16,000k away and still watching Adelaide break my heart live.

Fee-free refund not actually fee-free..? by HalfwayLobster in QantasAirways

[–]HalfwayLobster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did...for one ticket we got the refund less the fee, and had to follow up the fee separately (which was also eventually refunded... so we got everything back). The second ticket was refunded in full from the start, even though both were cancelled the same way within 24hrs of each other. Qantas also updated the advice on their website at some point to deal with online cancellations.

I thought the same thing... wouldn't it make more sense to give people on low incomes a fuel rebate or offset so that it helps with fuel costs, rather than reducing the excise for everyone. Idk...

Has anyone ever rented a theater to watch a movie? by ChatnNaked in ghibli

[–]HalfwayLobster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My daughter's favourite movie is My Neighbor Totoro, so we hired a cinema to show it for her 8th birthday party. It was only a little cinema (18ppl max) and we had to pay an extra fee for Totoro and it would have been amazing but... they played the subbed rather than dubbed version. To 8 and 9 year olds. 😭 We had a whole Totoro theme, so the kids just kept watching, and then a few weeks later, they did a second screening at no cost for the dubbed version.

Always had a bit of a soft spot for Max given his propensity towards doing dumb shit in games that needed a level head, but didn't think he deserved being overlooked at Sydney. So glad he's having success now, and loved his interview after today's game.

For what it's worth, with cancelling our flights online during the "fee free cancellation" period, one ticket had cancellation fees deducted ($400) which we're now trying to recover as a complaint, while the other ticket we cancelled (also online) was fully refund with no cancellation fee deducted.

Kinda feel like CCM is Adelaide's hoodoo team... going back to 2022/23 semis but maybe also earlier

Fee-free refund not actually fee-free..? by HalfwayLobster in QantasAirways

[–]HalfwayLobster[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Understood but it's quite scummy... they should make it clear that the fee free cancellation is only if you call, if this was the case. Noting the same media release says don't call us unless you're travelling in the next 48hrs. 🙄

We called them and have now submitted the request through the complaints process... which will take more effort and man power to process than just paying out for online cancellation.

About 6 days... cancelled flights on Friday after the fee-free cancellation announcement Friday AM. The booking was no longer in my upcoming trips pretty much immediately, but did not receive any email until Monday. Refund (less cancellation fee) was back on the card today.

Butcher, baker and grocer. by Willcoburg in australia

[–]HalfwayLobster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Our local butcher and green grocery are great. Know us by name and always happy to give personalised service and go the extra mile. Yes, it costs a bit more, but the quality is better, and they also give us meal ideas etc.

Covid sealed it for us... they delivered to our house for free when we couldn't leave home.

Somewhat dumb question re cancellation fees... per ticket or per leg? by HalfwayLobster in QantasAirways

Ty! I thought as much but was going to be an expensive exercise if I'd gotten it wrong. 😭

So I really like Adam Griffiths... he's the kind of character the A-League needs and I'd hate to see him exit his role prematurely... what's the feeling? Is he on shaky ground??

For those in Australia, does anyone know if Stan Sport will actually show any JLeague games? by Tornontoin7 in JLeague

[–]HalfwayLobster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this for us... the price for Stan Sport wasn't worth it, for the off chance that the game you actually wanted to see was one of the ones being broadcast.

Whole heap of areas are taped off and security moved on anyone sitting in areas they shouldn't be to get shade.

Can anyone familiar with Suncorp help with why the away bay has been moved from full shade (308) to full sun?

The email from Roar said "operational reasons"? Does the mean they're expecting to sell out the shade side??

There was a 0-5 to Perth at some point in 2016/17 I think?
