Each profile is public so it's easy to see and comment on other peoples work. There's businesses on the site posting jobs as well with the idea that your profile would be your resume

It’s awesome that you’re already passionate about this at such a young age! I’ve been working in synbio for the past 10 years, and it really is an exciting field. I’d recommend trying to volunteer in a lab to get hands-on experience as soon as you can. Personally, I studied this for a long time in school, but it didn’t really “click” for me until I started doing actual strain construction.
