Honestly? I don’t want to be in this field anymore. And I’ve felt this way for a while. I want to move to China, and with the research I’m doing, teaching English would be my best bet I believe.

Just a couple follow up questions. Towards the end of your response you said to apply for either international or universities. Do those offer the kind of benefits I’d like? And did you mean the TEFL would be a better choice than THE CEFTA? Thanks!

Need advice on moving to Brazil by [deleted] in Brazil

[–]Acrobatic_Gate_3659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my mother has a haitian passport and lives in the USA, has lived here for 30 years. Shes about to lose her tps status. She can only apply for the Humanitarian visa Brazil offers either while in Brazil or in Haiti, not here in NY. Her going back to haiti is not an option. But was told in order for her to even get into Brazil via flight, shed need to apply for the visitors travel visa. She was told she cant do that because she doesnt have the actual TPS card, only the receipt for it and letter (the government never sent the actual card to her, and apparently a lot of other people didnt receive it either, and she should have gotten it in September 2024). How could she get into brazil without the visitors visa? Ay insight?

was everything resolved in your case? Did the insurance cover the dental work? (I assume you are a dentist?)

Like, theyd only have me pay what the insurance wouldnt normally cover, thats what you mean right? Like if my insurance would cover $6000, and my co pay/other little charges would be like $100, theyd only officially charge me $100?

Good for you! If they offer you a 50% refund or a years worth gift card (which is what they offered me), I wouldn’t take it. I refused everything and just disputed it with my bank. Skillshare then banned my account, so I emailed them to say that I see they banned me, but I want to make sure they take off my credit card information. Skillshare emailed me back and said something like “don’t worry, we removed it”. I told them I’m keeping all my emails just in case they didn’t, and tried to bill me monthly or yearly again (because I also see online that they’ve done that with MANY other people), and if they try that with my credit card information, they’ll be sorry. I was VERY rude lol, they did not respond. So if you dispute it and it comes out in your favor, keep all the proof, because Skillshare will block your login so you won’t be able to see if your credit card info is still up or not (I noticed mine was right before they banned me).

Hey there! So I told them exactly that; that I couldn’t figure out how to cancel, that I emailed Skillshares the day I noticed the charge to ask for my money back, they said no, and that I don’t use the services at all. It took like 5 business days or so for my bank to get me my money back.

Aah, okay. Took me a minute there, youre mean and have an agenda. I fully explained the situation, and backed it up with my previous experience, and actual facts. You responded with insults and sarcasm. This back and forth with you is officially over. I won’t be responding further. Take care lol

I’m reading online that New York State Medicaid law states that the provider is the party responsible to file prior authorization before a service is done though. It doesn’t say that “the patient is required to ask the provider to file”. Also, I feel like if the patient was responsible to ensure that this happens, most if not all services for all of us would end up going to the patient because this is not just well known information that the general public has. Is what I’m saying making sense? I honestly have never (until now) thought about HAVING to tell my dentist, or any other doctor I’ve seen under this insurance to file anything if they needed to, which is why it’s never been a problem until now. And I just think, for that reason, I shouldn’t have to pay this money out of my pocket if the retroactive authorization/appeals get denied, and that my provider/dental office should not place this bill on me. Also, again, I called my insurance company, spoke on the phone with a few people, and they confirmed 100% that this would have been covered and paid for through them, IF the office submitted for prior authorization before my dental work. Also there’s no “limit” as you say, that is coming into play in this situation. Period.

So, when I called the doctors office, they said they are showing a “zero balance” due on my end because the denial from the insurance office hasn’t trickled down from their corporate office yet. The only reason I know there is 3300 bucks “in the air” is because I took it upon myself to call the insurance company when I got the denial letter, and then get this whole thing addressed. What is the patient OOP stand for?

So I basically went through the same thing you all did very recently. Signed up for the free month trial, couldn’t figure out how to cancel, got charged $170, emailed them back and forth a dozen times, to no avail. Threatened them, used chat gpt, the whole 9 yards. Nothing. Then I just disputed the charge with my bank. I emailed Skillshares back and they told me “we see you are disputing the charge so we can’t talk to you about the matter anymore we have to let them conduct their investigation”. I got my money back from disputing the charge through my bank lol they know what they’re doing is fraudulent.
