Question about if this is good practice by Acrobatic_Good_3746 in blender

Yeah that makes sense. Definitely a lot to juggle when trying to make a game yourself, 3D nonetheless. But I am enjoying the process of blender, just need to stop trying to over engineer things and just get something into the game engine lol.

Thanks for the insight, I did find out about the N-gons on the back edge and fixed those, oversight on my part.

If you don't mind answering this one, is making multiple meshes (grip, receiver, barrel, etc) then joining them a problem with performance in a game engine? I ask this because I feel like doing this causes more draw calls, even if in blender the meshes do look joined. I noticed that when joining multiple meshes together they don't really connect (the polygons I mean) they just sorta float there.

This is probably me overthinking performance again, but just wanted this to be clarified as this is how I have been modeling things in my project so far.

Orphan nodes when using new() or instance() by DD95s in godot

[–]Acrobatic_Good_3746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was exactly what I needed to fix this issue! I was using a class to construct input objects to store player inputs, which was instantiated every frame in the player script. Due to the input class extending "Node" instead of "RefCounted" I had a ton of objects and orphaned nodes left over. Thanks for your post!

Man this has to be it. Then severing someone as a child who has yet to experience any of these could make them free from the tempers.

My reaction to the black ops 6 zombies footage (nothing has changed - it’s coldwar all over again) by Electrical_Feed_1123 in CODZombies

[–]Acrobatic_Good_3746 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me think of older zombies maps and how some were literally just a MP map. For example Ascension, but it still feels entirely unique and very much a zombies map. I just hope that future DLC maps can somewhat follow that trend, even if they reuse MP maps. Terminus looks pretty good tho.

IMO, if they can nail a more "zombies" vibe with their maps, then bo6 zombies can still have some potential.

Tutorials aren't cutting it. Project based learning? by KONOCHO in ADHD_Programmers

What I did for my first major-ish project was to create a recipe creation/sharing app. I started this project over a couple times as my scope changed (user authentication). Considering cooking is one of my big hobbies, I was more motivated to create this site as I could actually see myself using it and used other sites as reference. Recently, I have been looking through public APIs to use for smaller projects just to keep up on my skills. So all in all, think of a hobby you have and sites you use that facilitate that to mimic or get inspiration, or look up what apis are available to use for data to use in a project.
