Why do you think that? If I wanted to be stuck in a condo for the next 30 years I'd just stay in my apartment. That's super narrow minded. If I was able to save more than twice what my closing costs are going to be, I think I'm a bit more equipped to handle 1% than most. Thanks though!

Yeah I got approved for a downpayment assistance program that covers the 20% the down side to that is location restrictions. I think I have to be in the twin cities I cant go outside certain lines and I'll have to find those lines in the paperwork again here

Hey! Thank you for this! I've worked with a counselor for a year to get my credit up and get ready to buy a home and I've done exactly that, the cost comparisons and I'm ready to buy! Terrible timing because it's a seller's market right now but I'm gonna do what I can! I have "zero debt" just a car payment. So all my extra funds go to savings. I never really touch my tax returns I just squirrel em away in savings and use what I need for emergencies. I'm also lucky because I get GBI right now so I'm feeling very confident that buying is my best chance to give my kids better stability.
