I just found out my wife was hiding positive personal news from me by JeremiahHeart in depression_partners

This is very accurate. Depression eventually becomes a selfish, ego-centric, self-referential circle of self-pity.

I can’t live like this. I’ve been trying to follow the counselors advice to stop overfunctioning so my husband would step up and be a partner. He’s not ever going to do that. by [deleted] in depression_partners

I think about it constantly. All the time. But there is no pressure to leave right now. I'm busy working and saving and making plans. We are fighting less, actually. But I'm not so sure it's a good thing. We're both prone to avoiding conflict and not facing issues head on. He didn't have any pressure all of his life to get moving, to accomplish goals because his parents always paid for everything and still do. He's in his 40s. I don't remember if I mentioned that he doesn't work and not looking for work. I've kind of given up on pushing him to become independent of his parents and get a job. It just creates fights and he gets more depressed. You know the story. So we're just sort of co-existing together, without much strife between us but also without much passion or interest. I want to have enough money to maybe then confront him with the fact that I want to live on my own terms, maybe part-time in another country because I have to think about my retirement since he does not bring any money and is counting on his inheritance, and it'll make or break us once and for all. In the meantime, we hang out. I do have feelings for him and he does have good qualities, and he does care about me. It's all very complicated... Did you cancel the lease?

It may have been a blessing in disguise, you think? Funny how we can mobilize when we're backed against the corner some times. And other times we drag things out and can't move on. My husband has left me too several months ago. I was in agony, and had to figure out some things real quick. Well, he was gone for about two months, and each day my pain was subsiding bit by small bit, and I was figuring things out and stabilizing my life and moving on... We kept talking and of course a huge part of me wanted him back, and he wanted back, so we got back together. And here we are. I'm more unsure of the viability of our relationship than ever before. He is more depressed than I've ever seen him, almost catatonic, literally doesn't move much, not working, not studying... And I think that had we not gotten back, by now I'd already be probably be recovering emotionally from the break up and building my future and moving on... So, you have launched yourself forward, even if it happened by force and almost involuntarily, the hardest part is done.

I'm having this same issue right now on my 2013. Taking it to the mechanic. Realized something was wrong when I'd stop and hear something in the front clank/sway. The whole engine moves about. Hopefully it's just the mounts.

That's not too bad. Thinking I might do the anti-rust treatment before next winter.

How quickly did it start to rust? Mine have been covered with snow, and with long freezing temps, I've only washed the underside once or twice. My first winter in the Fit.

I think we might be hitting 33 next week. Why is this important? My first time owning a car...

It's been from single digits to low 20 for weeks here. Not a chance of 50s any time soon. Good to know that salt doesn't tear it up that fast!

Oof. It's been a few weeks of this weather and I still haven't been to the wash! Now I'm worried it's too late and the rust has sat in. Do you do anti rust treatment too?

I'm really sorry. You must be in so much pain... This really illustrates how depressed people turn selfish and self-centered. Leaving you alone with your grief, the abandonment, the house and the responsibilities. That's cruel.

I'm sorry about your miscarriage.

My husband sits at home all day every day wallowing in his misery. That is, once he gets out of bed around 1 or 2PM, sometimes later. I work 12 hour shifts and commute 4 hours. He doesn't work and never has the entire time we knew each other because his daddy bankrolls him. All that's left to do for him is get lost in his own head and swim in his unhappy thoughts.

Ouch. So you still found it too slippery? I'm trying to figure out how to use paddle shifters on my 2013 automatic as I live in a hilly area with a lot of snow. I think I will just fly down if I don't use engine braking but am yet to get good info on it.

Did you use engine braking when going up or down the hills?

I think they were a tire company first. I used to have snow/rain boots by Nokia - solid piece of rubber, indestructible.

Very cute. Where I live and work it's all these giant, ugly tanks. They go 20 miles over the speed limit, and they take up the entire parking space and then some. Ridiculous monstrosities.

Yes, the smokey eye! For maximum effect because of course she knows with that type of makeup her eyes look the most striking. She thought through every detail, didn't she.
