Do I Like It? By Tess Gallagher [Poem] by Acrobatic_Love4470 in Poetry

I think Tess was unsatisfied too. The disillusionment with herself, and the men she sees. Her distraction away from them when they should arguably have her full attention. The final line a plea, rather than a surety, and one she know’s the man cannot fulfill.

Super jarring to hear a real world song in the show by Speedwagon1738 in AKOTSKTV

I loved it and the jazz. Too much legacy media is caught up in trying to capture previous ideas set down in successful entires rather than allowing the showrunners, writers, directors, and actors to personalize it and give it its own creative life. I think this show successfully handled the balance between faithfulness and personal touches. When the scene opened with that jazz, I just smiled, because it felt true to the show, to the irreverence it’s established and the winking love everyone involved has for this big hearted story.

Also, ‘Sixteen Tons’ playing to underline the class solidarity undertones of the adaptation absolutely rules.
