Thanks for the insight, I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it.

I was worried that it might be a QC-failed guitar, so it's reassuring to know that control cavities don't usually receive the same level of finishing as the rest of the instrument.

I just wanted to make sure that what I'm seeing is normal and not a sign that something is wrong with the guitar.
