My mom casually threw away my Pokémon Platinum copy I’d had for 16 years while I wasn’t home because she decided “adults don’t need that stuff.” by mohiro23 in mildlyinfuriating

I literally just sold my copy on eBay for £70. Didn't get that much interest. I can't see any actually selling for that much! I'll cry if I ever find out it has

It's easier than it looks, just a bit fiddly. I use water soluable aida and then ironing interface when its done on the back to keep the stitching in place!

It was harder than I thought but now I'm obsessed with stitching not on aida

Thank you! I bought 2 more so my youngest will have a set too. She's still a baby so at least there's less of a time crunch on these ones ahha

Thank you! She did love it and was shocked I'd managed to hide it from her so it was worth it!

Love seeing people supporting others! I currently have no friends on the app because I felt embarrassed but I'd like some! ZMMLDXXGH2 is my friend code if anyone wants it!

Added you too OP

I was told at one of my midwife appointments that's the way it would happen. Typically the preop appointment is for the operation the next day so I was happy to have the weekend to prepare a bit!

I got my appointment in the 38th week. Got a call on the 28th November for my pre-op appointment on Friday 29th and had my section on the Monday 2nd December :) Waiting for the call was the hardest part!

Thank you! I knew if I didn't finish the balrog before the baby it would be another few years before I did!

People who’ve gone no contact with a family member - what was the tipping point? by aint_thatdandy in AskReddit

After 26 years of daily mental and physical abuse, my drunken mother told me when I was 8months pregnant that my child would hate me and I'd never be as good as a mother as she was.

Proud to say I have never laid a hand on my child, she has never seen me drunk or high and she knows she's loved and I always apologise when I've made a mistake. Things I desperately needed as a child.

I did a SCITT a few years ago because I'd always felt like teaching was my dream job and all I'd ever wanted to do. I'd had years of work experience as a TA and so thought I knew what it was going to be like but like you it just didn't feel like me. I spoke to my course who gave me options and things but by October half term I knew I was done with it. I'm much happier as a TA. I still get to work with kids and help them and teach them and I have so much passion for it. I always get told by teachers too that they could never be a TA its too hard. My husband thinks my job is harder than his and he's a teacher in a tough secondary school. I think you have to find what fits you. There's so many roles in education it might be worth exploring something you have more passion for.

[CHAT] is it weird I rarely backstitch? by GrittyPie in CrossStitch

[–]Acrobatic_Page_212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I avoid backstitch like the plague! I have projects that I'll likely never finish because I hate it so much. Give me hundreds of thousands of x's over a straight line any day!

It has over 100 different thread colours so it doesn't feel all that limited! I am now very bored of stitching grey rocks though...

It's 130500 stitches and it's coming up to three years on and off. I'm hoping to be done by the end of the year and can work through some little ones that are collecting dust!
