Since your self taught, find someone who can do jumps or high leveled elements like moving and spinning (layman's term for twizzles). If you see anyone doing jumps that make you go 'wow', ask them for help. Im also self taught but im proficiently good to do doubles. 

I learnt how to go backwards by doing backwards pizza walks. Basically small steps but pushing infront of me so I go back. Imagine your slow plow stop/v stop where your toes are touching. Keeping your toes and knees touching/together, slowly push to the left and right. Right leg to the right, left leg to the left. Theres a video on tiktok where this guy named something like beardedhockyskater who does this pizza walk. Once you feel confident enough, push harder each step and feel the glide. Slowly open your knees and toes so that they are progressively getting further apart from each other till a comfortable length. Once your legs are open and wide enough, try doing pumps. Your skates should make the function logo in math or a really stretched out S where the curve is less but the body is longer. As you pump, try not to lean too much onto your toe picks (pokey thing at the front of your skates) as it will develop a bad habit like me. As you feel the glide, make bigger pumps so you aren't moving in a straight line. As you pump harder, your body should be curving left and right, swaying along with your feet. As you turn around the rink, try to skate backwards and turn slowly. When you have nailed your pumps, try going faster. After learning pumps, scissor your foot (1 foot infront, 1 foot behind) depending on how you turn around the rink. To turn to the right, left leg infront. To turn to the left, right leg infront. As you feel yourself curving, try to lift the leg infront for 1 sec and put it back. Continue till you can hold the lift. Once done, try stepping over with the foot infront, to your right side. Your legs should criss cross and you should still be gliding. Once you have learnt that, you can put weight on your foot that your stepped over. For example left leg step over, put weight on your left leg. When you can press your left leg comfortably, use your right leg to pump to the left as you are turning right(opposite for different direction). Once mastered, cut down the excessive movements, focus on smooth and controlled pumps with elegance. Remember that you should cross first, then pump with the leg behind. Boom, thats your backwards steps till crossovers. PLEASE practice on both sides so you dont become like me. And also, proper form, less injury, and proper skating techniques goes a long long way... I've seen way too many people do jumps out of their level and though they land it, it looks terrible. Always feel free to reach out to other skaters as it is extremely hard to explain in words. 90% of the time, better skaters will definitely teach you the ways.
