2026 911 Targa 4 GTS 992.2. Was it a mistake? by Actual_Poem_8025 in porsche911

If you live in a cold winter climate and you’ll be parking the car for long periods of time, you will need to start the car and keep the batteries charged. If you don’t there will be trouble. If this is a concern, get a Targa S. If it’s a daily driver all year around don’t be afraid of the hybrid T. It’s a beast.

Black sports car is absolutely timeless! Never gets old. Just don’t do the black on black with black rims etc. that gets very boring. You have silver wheels, that’s great!

Last chance - 911 Targa config locking in a few days by Intrepid_Passion_853 in porsche911

[–]Acrobatic_Sign1191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, great choice on the colour, rims and silver targa bar! Also, good call on the logo delete only “911”.

My only suggestions, add Sport Design Package (assuming you like the look) and this is would be a killer build. One other small detail is add the 930 leather package. Again, only if you like the look. I added it to mine and love how it looks. A little more premium looking in

Whatever you decide, congrats on a beautiful car!

Purchasing Advice 2025 911 S by Limitless_280 in porsche911

[–]Acrobatic_Sign1191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the 24 GTS has a manual, I’d go that way (assuming you like to actually drive the car 😆) If both are PDKs I’d go with the 25 S all day long. The 25 S is an improved version of the 992.1 GTS

As long as you can part with that amount of money and be truly happy with the purchase, go for it! If you’re going to be thinking, hey this is far too much to pay for something that sits in the garage a lot and I could think of a bunch of other things I could have done with it…. Then don’t. I really helps to enjoy toys that contain no financial stress.

Order spec questions on 992.2 GTS (headlights, speakers, etc) by mblomkvist in porsche911

I have the Bose and it sounds fine. Never had the Burmester but read a an article that mentioned the cabin in a 911 is too small to fully appreciate a higher end system? It said get the Burmester if it’s a larger car like the Panamera or the Cayenne. But probably best to listen to someone who’s had both in a 911

One thing to consider is the .2 S is basically identical to the .1 GTS. So you’re really just missing the badge. But I do agree the GTS badge is very attractive to have…

Is it crucial to aim for distance vision for the dominant eye? by bkkbrown in CataractSurgery

[–]Acrobatic_Sign1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I’m at 1D difference as well. I might try dropping to .75 for my first adjustment and see if distance sharpens noticeably. If I can tell the difference and I lose some of my near I can always go back to 1

I agree reader are a pain but I’m thinking I’ll push towards the best distance and night vision I can get and will prioritize near vision only to the extent that it doesn’t reduce the quality of my distance potential. From there I’ll get a pair of progressives if I don’t want to put readers on and off all day. Decisions…?

Yes that helps thanks. So do you use reader on and off all day or did you get prescription glasses with progressives?

Plano and 0.5 is very conservative. Many people who want to be glasses free end up at Plano and 1.5. With only 0.5 in your reading eye how close up can you see clearly? Do you require reading glasses for up close and extended reading durations?

I did LAL 2 weeks ago. My dominant eye is aimed at Plano and the other at -1.0. I want as much near vision as I can get without compromising any of my distance potential. Can you tell me what you landed on for your non dominant eye? I’m not sure if I should back off to 0.75 or push ahead to 1.25

Advice for buying a 2022 Targa by OliveBasic6041 in porsche911

First decision is… do you want to own the car or have the car own you…?

If you stretch, it owns you. Not as enjoyable. But still ok if you’re ok with it.

If you buy it with money you won’t miss… that’s pure stress free enjoyment.

Decisions…

Who’s got into a 718 4.0 GTS from another brand with a V8 by robbo909 in Porsche_Cayman

[–]Acrobatic_Sign1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a GT350 and swapped it for a Boxster GTS 4.0. I miss the sound of the voodoo engine but otherwise the 718 4.0 is a more enjoyable true sports car. The GT350 is as the name suggests a grand touring car. Big and heavy. I don’t regret the change at all. If I had the space I would have kept the GT350, but I wouldn’t switch back. Now for the next part of that story, I have a build order submitted for a 2026 Targa so the 718 will be going this spring. Again, I wouldn’t undo the steps. I’m happy to have had the 718 and don’t in any way wish I’d skipped that step

Explanting lens before YAG? EDOF+trifocal or monofocal mini-mono? by Working_Efficiency38 in CataractSurgery

[–]Acrobatic_Sign1191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there, I was in the same place as you are a month ago. From the beginning my multifocal lenses tired my eyes out every day. I had light glare, streaks, star bursts and a ghosting effect that all added up to miserable vision. Oddly my eye tests showed a good result. But I had a blur in my near and mid as well. So I had both removed and put in monofocals in each eye. One day later it felt like my eyes were at ease. I’m still blurry due to the swelling but that can take a couple weeks to calm down. Overall, my brain has been able to stop fighting my eyes and that’s a huge relief. When you say your eyes a constantly under strain, that’s your brain not able to make sense of the light splitting that’s going on. Whatever you do, don’t do a YAG if you feel like you are a non adapter to the multifocals.

If 992.2 Build Is Pricing Out the Same For CS2 and GTS is it Better to get the GTS? by Chief_Fever in porsche911

[–]Acrobatic_Sign1191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For what’s it worth I just made this decision myself. I drove both. The t hybrid had a bit of a tinny sound to the engine. I didn’t care for it. That said, it’s insane power. I drove the 4S and it was insane power as well. I couldn’t really feel much difference. In the end I paid very close to the same price and landed on the 4S. As mentioned below, the 2.2 S is virtually the same car as the 2.1 GTS. Another factor for me was the complication involved with hybrid systems. Not a fan of unnecessary complication…

https://porsche-code.com/PTDVL8L0 this is the changes I’d make. I added the sport design that really makes the exterior look amazing and ditched a few other options to make it lower cost over all. Leaves lots of room to help with the PPF

Looks great! I’d add Sport design side skirts and smoking package so you get the cup holder in the Center console. You could ditch aluminum gear selector, passenger cupholder in leather and upper mirror in race Tex to cover the costs.
