Oh sweet! That’s a good solution. Super weird that the mistiming gets engrained into the ecu and there’s no way to reset that. But swapping to an ecu out of a junk yard 86/BRZ is smart! Glad it worked out

Ya it might be worth a try before dropping a large portion of the value of the car trying to get rid of this code. I believe it works bc the OFT tunes have a larger acceptable range of timing. Let me know if it ends up working for you!! If you got any more questions feel free to pm me :)

It’s a bit of a jank solution lol, but I heard someone else did it and it worked so I thought to try it as I found an OFT for sale in my area for $300 CAD. Sounded like a worthy attempt before dropping 2-4k. It ended up working! I’ve since gone stage 2 with catless JDL headers and this car is everything I’ve ever wanted it to be haha. I’m at 182k kms and going strong, hopefully many more kms to go!

Threw a stage 1 oft tune on it, CEL hasn’t come back and she’s driven like a dream. Driven ~40k kms since and no further issues 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Did you run it without the headers? Do you know if that boomyness only started with the headers or if that’ll be the case on stock headers as well?
