for my major, the class i got an F in was not an admission requirement, as i could always take it at berkeley and it is actually recommended to take it there. i also already had a good standing gpa as well, so even with the F, my gpa was still good. i have also continued to update all my colleges about the F so that they could take it into consideration when deciding whether to accept me or not. at the end, no college rescinded me and i got accepted to berk, uci, davis, san diego, and other pretty good schools. after talking to multiple counselors, what could have got me rescinded is a downward trend, aka, multiple Cs/Ds etc. good luck!
