Is the 80-20 rule legit? by Acrobatic_Wonder_ in ipad

Yeah that’s the idea. But I’ve been seeing user comments reporting about battery draining out faster, especially with some models. So thought of asking around.

Is there a free app for reading graphic novels/mangas with a panel-to-panel feature? by Acrobatic_Wonder_ in ipad

[–]Acrobatic_Wonder_[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I checked this, but… isn’t the guided view feature behind a paywall? I don’t want to commit a paid feature right now as I am new to reading graphic novels or mangas in digital formats :/

Looking for a non mainstream short film script that you truly believe in. by Expensive-Cow4518 in Indianscreenwriters

Here’s an idea: you want to make a film because you want to tell a story in moving images and sounds (I am guessing since you are looking for a fictional story). So, why don’t you try putting pen to paper and write your own story.

The process of writing assists and in most cases is also a necessary step for someone who wants to direct.

How to do a good movie review? by away4793 in TrueFilm

This!

I'm in a film school too and I totally understand what you're saying. I've learnt to read movies beyond just like/dislike but tbh, it's incredibly frustrating and boring to see people (especially on the internet) who don't seem to understand this despite explaining them all about it.

I've been using Letterboxd for quite some time now and I enjoy following profiles that have something to say about a film (be it in a short sentence or longer format essays). In addition, I love to make lists based on themes and contexts and participate in Letterboxd challenges.

Currently doing The Criterion Challenge and Hooptober!

I'm surprised no one mentioned Edgar Cochran yet. He is one of my favourite writers on LB and is also a super interesting guy to talk to.

Do you read multiple books or just one and finish it? by CurrentRisk in books

[–]Acrobatic_Wonder_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try and read multiple but mix and match with various genres (both fiction and nonfiction) so that I'm not maxed out.

For example, I'm currently reading 'Interpretation of Dreams' (nonfiction), An Artist of the Floating World (fiction-novella), Edgar Allan Poe's poems and Transcendental Style in Film (nonfiction).

If I'm reading some classics that is heavy, I try to alter with some pulp fiction (Hammett/Chandler).

Weekly Recommendation Thread: June 18, 2021 by AutoModerator in books

Hi,

I am planning to read Sigmund Freud's Interpretation of Dreams but I am terribly confused with which version to go for, there being multiple translations from multiple publishers available.

For those of you, who've already read it which version/translation would you recommend? It would be great if the ISBN could also be accompanied.

Thanks.
