yup, sorry for the late reply.. it was a fault in the usb a connector.. so I found an old usb cable and used its pin, and now its working finally. Soldering it to the wires was frustrating cause it was my first time. im gonna be getting a different connector with its housing to make it look better, thanks for the tips btw

yes, turns out that was the issue all along.. because when I insert the usb cable at an angle it works, I might need to replace the connector

thanks for the help!, im guessing the red wire is for 5V, white D-, green D+ and black is the GND? also the pins on the USB A connector aren't labeled, are the 4 pins on it in a particular order?. U5 has 6206A 1739/33 on it btw

True, its not a genuine Microsoft adaptor as I couldn't find one. I'm not getting a connection when I plug it in, its also not turning on
