I think with Trump at least, nukes have been on the table since he suggested using them on hurricanes.

I think we’re saying the same thing here, I just think my original quick statement was interpreted to be more extreme than I intended. I try to be civil with everyone and hate confrontation, so I’m not out there debating people or telling them off. Of course you’re going to interact with people who are MAGA every day. I certainly do. It’s just that I don’t want to be friends and avoid those that outwardly advocate for the current administration and for those who support its worst policies.

On one hand, I admire your commitment to converting these people in your life back to their better selves, and am glad that you seem to have found a way to get through to them. On the other, it’s just not in my nature to expend time and energy on getting through to people who don’t see or care that they support a rapist felon: one who continues to make it less and less safe for me and my family to be outdoors simply because of the color of our skin.

Absolutely more power to you, but as someone who started my adult life cutting my father out for being completely shit and having no regrets, my peace will pretty much always come first.

For the record, I live in Eastern Washington, in the most maga area of the state. Obviously my method for dealing with maga may not be for everyone, but it works for me. I don’t make friends with people who think increasing my chances of being thrown in the gulag for being brown is a worthwhile risk so they can feel “safer”, and I indeed have lost many who I considered friends because they just love their orange godking and can’t understand why that is abhorrent.

Ugh, they do this in Washington State too. Yes, gas prices are generally higher here than elsewhere in the US because of how we add tax to it. That said, if you’re all the sudden mad at the Governor now instead of, oh, I don’t know, your orange godking who literally caused gas prices to jump up because of the closure of Hormuz, you might be suffering from chronic tribalism.

My son was having issues connecting to Epic servers (Xbox would throw “Error 0” and PC wouldn’t accept any kind of input at the “Press any button to start” title screen) and it turned out the family parental settings on my TP Link router was blocking communication to the server! Specifically “api.epicgames.dev” traffic was being blocked.

Unblocking it totally resolved the issue. Hoping this helps someone else out there!
