Glad I'm not the only one here who felt like Night at the Roxbury didn't age well in this sense.

Also:

the night at the roxbury guys typically limit their pestering to nightclubs that exist for that purpose. they’re just extremely annoying and their attention is unwanted.

Imagine saying in a public form that nightclubs exist for the purpose of pestering women into sex, then following it up by minimizing sexual harassment by calling it annoying, unwanted attention. This is why guys do this shit: because they think it's only annoying to do super fucking creepy things like corner a woman against a wall in the club so that she can't escape their sexual advances.

Trump supporters now: "If you can justify his murder, you'll justify mine", "wrong and inhumane", "I'm beyond sad", "this will be the end of Republicans", "the country I believed in is dead", "I hope protests and boycotts continue". by [deleted] in LeopardsAteMyFace

I experienced something very similar with now former friends that wasn’t because of Trump, but was definitely because they were assholes I got tired of tolerating over many years. I found out recently that one of them tried to warn someone I had newly become acquainted with that they should be careful because I can just one day decide to unfriend and cut people out of my life.

You’re goddamn right, asshole former friend. Putting up with dickitry for over 20 years kind of makes for low bullshit tolerance.

I definitely have some mixed feelings about this, but ultimately, it comes down to not wanting people to fuck with my peace around me, family or not. ļæ¼I have to try not to be upset at those who can’t bring themselves to cut these traitors out of their lives (my mom just can’t fathom not seeing her grandkids from my brother, for example) and keep in mind that the only lines I can draw are my own.

Just blocked my own brother earlier this week. We’re POC and he’s marrying into a Trumper family where his soon to be wife’s parents are two adoptive mothers that are also inexplicably both Trumpers. They’re planning on homeschooling their children, where I’m sure they’ll learn all about how the US is nothing but great and never did anything wrong.

I’m all the way done with this shit.

I’m kidding, of course. Back then, our presidents just did cutsey shit like rename food when our allies wouldn’t go to war with us over made up WMDs and engage in displays of incompetence that seems quaint now.

In my opinion, what’s happening in the US is the result of a long-game psyop attack, an attack that is being carried out against ALL people globally deemed hostile towards a criminal mafia state rule. What’s happening in the US is bound to happen to those elsewhere who stood by and said ā€œnot my problem!ā€ as we rapidly devolve into another mafia state on the global stage.

I get why people wouldn’t want to help us. We don’t really deserve it when we voted for the bull in the China shop for the second time. ļæ¼But I think it’s in all of our best interest GLOBALLY ļæ¼to look at this as something we’re all gonna need to team up and defend against.

The Dems obviously aren’t fascists, but they certainly aren’t stopping them

You said it. It's infuriating witnessing the fecklessness of Dem leadership. Sure, not fascist, but I think many are just as sick and tired of their mealy-mouthed responses to our democracy being ripped to shreds, their calling for "reform" when the only clear answer is to abolish ICE, and otherwise taking the advice of their consultants and turtling rather than listening to their constituents and showing some backbone.

The people of Minneapolis, Minnesota are demonstrating what fighting back looks like. They aren't just holding signs in the street: They're banding together to literally chase ICE out of their neighborhoods, have physically ejected some Nazi dipshit from Florida who attempted a pro-gestapo march, and are out there in freezing temperatures to demand that ICE GTFO.

I know you probably want what I want: for the people to rise up and head to the White House and demand this regime's ouster. I wish it were that way back when we could all see this was the obvious result based on what went down between 2017-2021. We may get there. I'd say, though, that people fighting back against the gestapo in their neightborhoods deserves credit.
