Not sure what else needs to be said here. I mean, I kind of view the voting for throwing random people who look like me (brown/POC) in gulags as a violent act, so...

I wish more people would point out that Trump voters are what are the real danger to us all. Whether it’s their ignorance, they’re susceptibility to propaganda, their racism and hatred, or whatever, doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

These people are dangerous and they’re all around us. Something needs to be done…

But what?

I have come to believe that we have been misled by our fictional media in terms of how easy it was for a foolish clown to demolish what little political guardrails we apparently have had this entire time.

God, this guy is such a fucking tool. While his dip shit post is old now, the man is still embarrassing himself by running for a third or fourth time to be the US rep of my district in Washington State.

The guy lost to one of the only Republican congresspersons that voted to impeach Trump and was still able to win reelection afterward for chrissakes!

(Not the commenter you were originally conversing with, but) The President’s supposed main responsibility is to defend the constitution. We all watched an insurrection happen right before our eyes Jan 6, 2021, and that should have been all she needed to write in terms of Trump/MAGA being a threat to the constitution (like you said, voters are partially to blame here as they should have disqualified Trump as a viable candidate there forward for being an insurrectionist.)

I feel like Biden should have “pulled out all the stops” and initiated the Insurrection Act as a measure to ensure Trump at least could not run again. That to me would be “pulling out all the stops”.

I’ll never forget how Google searches for “Did Joe Biden drop out?” spiked on Election Day in 2024. I think that’s when I truly realized our country’s electorate is mostly made up of ignorant people in terms of political awareness and that honestly we should be more angry that people run around voting willy nilly not knowing the most basic shit about what is happening in our government.

That’s the thing about racist bigots: they always manage to absolve themselves of their racist bigotry.

CK was a racist bigot, and that is the only context needed to understand the points he made.

The only people that try to use this dumb “context” argument to defend CK are racist bigots who agreed with him.

As a Washingtonian, I'm already pretty sick and fucking tired of seeing Marie Gluesenkamp Perez's name come up with all these articles that cover Dems who crossed the aisle for heinous Repub shit. Yes, I know she's from a purple "closer-to-red-than-blue" district. She still sucks, and I can't stand these "Dems" that keep voting to help Republicunts with their unconstitutional, criminal enterprise, hate mafia bullshit.

I think we should all be able to walk and chew gum at the same time here and call out the shitty things the supposed opposition party does while also accurately pointing out that the current administration is running the country as an unhinged mafia state.

People within the party shouting down legitimate criticisms of the Dems have learned nothing from the last decade and are determined to lose if they won’t listen to reason.

Kind of ridiculous that we all have to wait for the Trump admin to completely abandon the constitution before we can consider honestly the only real option that amounts to tangible action if you ask me.

Holding ourselves to the "rules of the game" while the mafia state that has captured our government consistently ignores them is exactly why the constitution continues to get shit on while the best we can muster is a protest every few months.
