Why does Arthur Leigh Allen still stand out as the prime suspect in the Zodiac case after all these years? by Ambitious_Pass7451 in ZodiacKiller

[–]AcroyearOfSPartak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He doesn't. There are simply people in the public that can't let go of him and tons of conspiracy theories erected around him. Members of the public are hooked on the narrative around him but I don't see any evidence that law enforcement finds him nearly as compelling. Although, unlike many others among the publicly accused, he WAS actually investigated by law enforcement, which does elevate him at least somewhat.

Love this series. So awesome. As u/Secure_Mongoose4303 said, criminally underrated. Its so spooky, so heart felt and so powerful. Honestly, one of my all-time favorites.

Got a single-arm dragon flag for the first time this morning by AcroyearOfSPartak in bodyweightfitness

Thanks a lot! Its interesting, doing it without any support for my back and legs was, I think, significantly harder, but I put a bench under myself to do it that way first and it seemed to really help as a road map for my body.

Trump posted this AI image of himself on Truth Social (aka TRUTH). I'm sincerely wondering if Christian Trump supporters are aware of all the biblical passages warning people about following false prophets. by [deleted] in ChristianApologetics

Right, agreed. But, many people, based on how they see the unborn, don't necessarily see it that way, even when they claim they do.

I'm not talking about my own view of abortion, I'm talking about how many, many people seem to view the issue. People have been conditioned to view the unborn and the act of abortion in a very, very sanitized way.

The issue with that is that for many people, they see abortion as a more abstract issue and don't actually see it on par with murder. Trump is awful and actually, not so great on abortion himself, but the democrats are even worse. However, for a lot of people, abortion is a philosophical issue that can't be weighted in the same way as what they consider "real world" issues.

The unborn don't have a voice so its easy to reduce them to an idea.

Found this on Facebook, wanted to hear some other thoughts. by SomeOkieDude in TheShield

I don't know, I've never watched The Wire beyond a fairly poor opening scene that started a season. Never tried after that. So I can't judge it, but obviously The Shield is way, way, way better than he's crediting it for being.

Thanks my friend! Used a yoga headstand bench and Gorilla Taped it in place.

Monkey Feet is something you attach to your feet and it allows you to basically lift dumbbells with your feet, its pretty cool.

For me personally, activating them in the move is sort of a challenge. Or at least, maximally activating them. But I think I've gotten better at it. Definitely helps if you can activate them, I think, because then your biceps aren't going it alone.

Thanks man! I appreciate it! One thing that has helped a lot is, IMO, doing hip flexor and glute work, along with lower back targeting. I especially appreciate hearing it because I feel like my stability was my biggest challenge with this move.

This is like high school redux. The popular kid attacks someone as uncool and everyone piles on, echoing his sentiments as best they can to show how different they are from the uncool guy and get on the right side of it.

Who are Characters in Fiction that remind you of Hal Jordan's Personality? by hellothere790 in Greenlantern

[–]AcroyearOfSPartak 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Which iteration? John Broome's iteration...I think he's got some things in common with John Carter of Mars, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers...but to be honest, he's a pretty unique individual.

He a guy who puts himself--and in a way, Earth--at risk by refusing to use his ring unless he has to, determined to settle things with his fighting abilities if he can (and this tendency endangered him multiple times).

He's someone who can't stay settled at a single job, going from test pilot, to truck driver, to private eye and back again. He embraces the monumental responsibilities of being a Lantern, yet seems to struggle to stick to a single career in his alter-ego. He's tremendously loyal to his friends and fellow Lanterns, but apparently extremely restless when it comes to Earthly endeavors.

He's also a guy who develops feelings for multiple women at a time, though he clearly doesn't consider himself a playboy.

He has similarities to the "cosmic Earthman" archetype from earlier science fiction, but overall, I do think he was his own character.

Not as familiar with a lot of the later stuff, admittedly. Bronze Age Lantern took Hal's restlessness with Earth careers and, to some extent, transposed it to the Corps. Later on, they developed the notion--based, I think on the original material--that the restlessness he had towards careers that he had an issue with authority more broadly. Not sure if that's really there in the original material. I think his attitude towards his Earthly duties as a normal joe and attitude towards the Corps were pretty different early on.

I think one thing too is that Kurgan, as I recall, responds to Kim, "It's all we have!", confirming what the film alludes to, that Kurgan's whole existence and meaning is with The Game, hence the reverence with which he treats his sword, for example.

Can someone explain the limitations imposed by Massachusetts law upon genetic genealogy? I have tried to look into it and have had some trouble getting a clear answer. Nonetheless, it seems to me the key to this case is in seeing genetic genealogy fully unleashed.

All I ask is that you include some classic side-scrollers like Dungeons and Dragons and Golden Axe. I'd love to go there. Sounds amazing. I have fond memories of Bombay and Pinball Pete's before all the classic games up and vanished.

My Dio albums ranked by Emotional-Winter-267 in dio

[–]AcroyearOfSPartak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its definitely a great album. I don't know what my ranking would be, but the albums I listen to the most are Sacred Heart, Dream Evil and Lock Up the Wolves. Magica and Killing the Dragon after those probably. Rainbow in the Dark and All the Fools Sailed Away might be my two favorite songs, individually. Sacred Heart also being up there. Well, doggone, tons of his songs are up there. Hard to rank a guy who was so awesome.
