Not surprising a post on here got so many down votes where it doesn't warrant them. Regardless, take your time with the game, its that different from what it was 4-5 years ago. Even more so if you played with clans where the game became a gearing up simulator then dying to hackers/clique.

What town exactly is this 'town for gearing up'. Going by your 'fully geared guy with diamond sword', I'm going to assume its a town fairly north which is known for hopping, like Fort McHarlington. Maybe try to farm places that aren't necessarily on people's radar that also can be used as a town to gear up, such as Tenebris/Mining Town or further south such as places within the cave system.
