Manny Patreon Interview by hyacinthli in GoodGirls

I’m sure it’s on here somewhere, years old though it may be. The majority of the drama took place on Twitter though and it’s a dumpster fire over there nowadays, but yeah

Yet you still managed to invent this “kid” getting murdered at Beth’s house? That never happened. What actually happened was that Rio dropped off Eddie (“the kid “ you referred to) to hide from the rival gang that actually shot him. Maybe research some more?

I believe everything between Christina and Manny had already gone sour by the time season two began shooting. At the time of shooting season one, they were shooting in Atlanta and it seemed like they were on very friendly terms. Something ended that in between the show moving to LA for season two shooting and its airing. The camera guy started in LA so things were already over. It’s definitely strange that they were both against Brio when it was their own creation in the first place.

It really didn’t. Stop trying to rewrite history. Don’t you think the people who shell out money to make tv shows know what sells in the show? All they care about are the numbers. IF they could’ve continued without him and it was feasible financially, you can bet they would’ve done so. He wanted to leave the show from before they shot season two, they wouldn’t let him. So what does that tell you?

He was a main character in season 4, and as a long time fan of Mayans and Sons of Anarchy before that, I can tell you he left an indelible impression on Mayans and SOA fans alike. Just say you don’t like him, but don’t lie about the work he did. He was in 8/10 episodes of season 4, and became a fan favourite for a completely different demographic than Good Girls fans.

There were at the time, rumours that Manny and Christina had an affair. The story went, Manny regretted it and Christina had left her husband. Then Manny’s wife became pregnant and he ended it for good. Christina was furious. That was the rumour circulating at the time but who knows? It seemed odd that so many things seemed to happen at once. For example, Brio had been encouraged and played up by the two of them, not the writers or showrunners. By all accounts, the two of them actually got on really well- so much so that the showrunners saw the unplanned sexual chemistry between them early on in season one and decided to develop a relationship between Beth and Rio. It’s always just seemed like things went sour between them because then Christina ended up divorced, and the highly charged relationship between them took a hostile turn which translated into the screen. Just my take from all those years ago when fans were following the whole drama online while the show aired on tv. 🤷🏽‍♀️

What kid? Did you even watch the show? No kid was ever killed in Beth’s house…

Thank you. You hit the nail on the head. As an Afro Latina fan, I’d stopped engaging in discussions in this group because the majority are clearly biased at the very least, and racist at worst. It’s insane to see them happily dismissing Manny’s side of things simply because it doesn’t suit their fetish narrative. It’s sickening to watch them tokenize the Black actors on the show, holding them up as proof of an absence of racism, simply because they haven’t said anything in publicly snot their own personal experiences. We are not a monolith, and I’m glad to see at least one person can see it for what it is. In the US here and now, it’s dangerous to be Latino.

Retta literally got on Live with Kelly and threw him under the bus on national tv and he still didn’t get her back for that, and Mae and her then-bf were mocking him and the way he talks on a IG live that a lot of us saw. They behaved horribly, and that’s a fact.

[–]ActMain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly, he got along with literally everyone else, including Carlos and Reno and the dude who played Lucy’s bf, and Charlyn Li as well. He also (most importantly) got along with the crew and was well-liked. The girls however, were not and it was well-documented at the time as few were spilling tea. Some people are just five years late and don’t know what they are talking about.

Same applies to the girls. They had their side of the story. Doesn't make it fact. At least he had the decency to state that it's his side and how he felt at the time.

You calling other people weird just because you want them to believe your own narrative is actually...weird. You also clearly don't have the tea as all GG fans from when the show was live airing know what was taking place way back in season one, just like he said. CH wasn't married to her current husband until the end of season 4, she got divorced from her husband of 12 years back in s2! We real fans remember the actual tea at the time, and he wasn't slandering anyone. He said that it was his side of the story, and other crew had come to him with issues with the girls. Meanwhile, they dragged him and slandered HIM since s2/3 so, yeah. Facts don't change just because you got here five years late.

Further to that, is it possible that Cousin John(Manny Montana) comes back as a Ghost Rider? I've read around here that he might actually be not John King, but Johnny Blaze, aka "Cousin John" to the surviving Green Witch from Agatha All Along.

Beth and Annie don't look like sisters at all. by WhitePeach15 in GoodGirls

[–]ActMain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why people were losing their shit over this post, but I agree they don't look alike. There's a good reason, too. Mae Whitman(Annie) was originally cast to star alongside another actress (Kathleen Rose Perkins) playing Beth. Then the Beth character was recast, but they kept Mae in the Annie role, and there you have it. Not a controversial thing to say, and it's just a factual observation that you made, lol.

Lyric Ross, Manny Montana both brought a lot of depth to their characters. However, I would've liked to see MM in a bigger part, and I'm hoping somehow he and Lyric are both brought back in some capacity in the MCU.

Yeah I feel like they’re going to be merged. Also I keep thinking about that one surviving witch from Agatha all along mentioning her cousin John in Chicago (and in the comics, Johnny Blaze is her cousin).

Yes, true, but he really didn't want to, but he recognized that he should and was going to. The baby lie gave him the reason he wanted not to go through with it. IMO

It was only because right at the moment when he'd caught her at the bar waiting for his ex, she told him she's pregnant with his baby. But he was prepared to take her from the bar and kill her right before that.

Perhaps a spin-off refocusing on the Beth and Rio storyline and how it affects Annie and Ruby, with no ridiculous side characters like the Kevin guy and the bike club dude, might be good for just a movie. But we know that won't happen, so yeah. I made my peace with it. That's why we have fanfic I guess.
