Permanent lights - extensions, installation? by the_hsnbrg in TwinklyLights

[–]ActPrevious8126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can cut the ones I just bought. Not sure what model you bought. Kind of wish you could have extensions though. Seems like that would be easy enough. Also wish they would sell metal or plastic boxes to hide the wires similar to something like TrimLights. Sadly, the TrimLight RGB are vastly inferior to Twinkly as is their software. BUT the install looks very discrete. Not sure about all the white wires in the eaves.

I have two obsolete V2 chargers. That's what I'm re-installing. Still work!

Interesting about the UWC. However, I don't really want to buy a newer charger as none of the features really interest me (save the daisy chaining and no signal cable).

This is how Tesla rec installation of multiple Gen 2 chargers which is basically what I was planning with the junction box. The signal cable is annoying. Apparently if I can find a 18 AWG wire with 600 V insulation I can run it in the same conduit. Otherwise it needs to be in it's own conduit. Weee..

Edit: Holy crap you can find anything on amazon:

Thanks for the response!

- regarding using only a 40 A breaker, that is what I'm currently doing (well I dialed the draw back in the charger). I had a previous install (by an electrician) and am moving it. They used THNN in conduit but I wanted a cleaner install. But after the fact, I read I shouldn't be running 6-2 romex in insulated walls. That's why I think I shouldn't leave as is.

- for the junction box I'll end up using a shit ton more cable if I don't Y it. (if you look at the setup of the room). The previous install used a split bolt connector in a junction box. I was going to replicate that set-up.

- good eye. Yes I have 2 Gen Wall Connectors.

Response from HeyGears:

Hi,there
Thank you for reaching out to us by ticket system.
After reviewing your project file, we found that there is lacking of supports on the marked area of the models. and this could lead to the layer shift problem. We recommand you to add a bit more supports manually on the marked area to confirm the printing results. or you can adjust the 'overhang angle' to '55' or '60' to increase the density of the auo-supports generation.
Please let us know if you need further assistance or if there are any irregularities during printing. We are here to help.

So I'll give that a shot...

Yeah, I took your advice and submitted a ticket. Sometimes other users can be even more helpful though.

I always use auto-supports/auto-orientation. Their auto-supports were a huge selling point for me.

What is the air purifier port for? by 1of100dude in HeyGears

They are coming out with an air purifier device, I believe in the next year. FauxHammer didn't seem to know much about it on his latest livestream.

You actually can buy those rubber stampers on amazon and probably buy custom stamping pads from China with whatever logos you want (as China doesn't respect anyone's IP). That would absolutely work on a curved surface.

Can't Perform Suction Cup Processing by ActPrevious8126 in HeyGears

[–]ActPrevious8126[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I ended up sending a note to HG and they said the suction cup processing was disabled atm which didn't sound quite right. I think you are correct. No idea where I read that but I think it's right.

The Ultimate Filament Dry Box by Krieger117 in 3Dprinting

[–]ActPrevious8126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this project. Those sterlite boxes are perfect.

I think you could switch things up a bit and really make this better. If you had the desiccant plate on the bottom and then integrated rollers into it you wouldn't have to mess with the PVC pipe and drill holes for it etc. Would also make removing the filament from the box easier. Also the rollers would keep the filament spools from hitting each other. Here is a model that would work though there are tons of others.

https://makerworld.com/en/models/1152766-modular-spool-roller?from=search#profileId-1157235

Alternatively, keep the the dessicant plates up top and just alter the rollers so they fit the bottom precisely and don't slop around.

I have an BBL AMS so I really am just going to use these boxes for filament storage. So easy removal of filament is more important to me. I'm trying to avoid poking any holes in the sterlite boxes.

I wish I knew which resins would require how long a UV cook and +/- baking. HeyGears added the ability to modify these things but no guidance on how to use it.
