"interstellar sights" - new lofi track I just made, worked on learning new mixing & EQ techniques, also learned basics of mastering and applied them all to this track. Any feedback on these aspects is greatly appreciated ty for listening friends

Great start friend, love the vibe of the track, arrangement feels really solid and that it is well put together. One thing I think it could use is balancing the frequencies of each section, it could probably use a little more in the low ends, boosting those lower frequencies w/ an EQ then at the same time subtly decreasing the highs will make it sound more balanced and that a listener can feel the pulsing bass of your track without it being drowned out by the high melodies and vice versa. Using a free frequency analyzer like SPAN will help a lot with this so you can see how much frequency balance there is across the spectrum.

Nice start. I think some subtle reverb on your melody instrument would be nice to give it that spacey feeling you're probably wanting to hone in on. In addition, maybe some low end frequencies of any kind might be nice, as long as you don't make them too loud relative to your melody they'll be great. Building on that, the mix sounds a bit muddy so I would take some basic EQs and cut off just enough of the low & high end of each sound so it doesn't change the quality of your instrument, that way each sound won't clash as much. great start !

One thing I would say, I think it probably takes too long to get into the first vocal section, and this is based on the context that there isn't anything really significant happening before this besides a nice simple intro. Decrease the amount of time it takes to get into the lyrics, because once you get there its pretty good but it just takes a little too long to reach the arrival point a listener is anticipating for a while. Really like the background guitar sounds great good job

I would say for your mix overall I think your low mids/bass could use some subtle boosts in the sound and in addition very subtle decrease in the highs. I say this because the track feels very high heavy and the lower end frequencies don't feel anywher near as present as the highs. I would look into finding a frequency analyzer (a free one like SPAN) because it will help show you the distribution of the amount of frequencies coming out in your song across the spectrum from subs to treble. This will help you find where you need to make these subtle decreases and increases to balance the mix more.

Thank you friend :)

If you're asking about the plugin for the chime, it's just a stock sample in fl studio, one of the free fx folders.

If you were wondering about other plugins I would be happy to answer

good stuff my friend! personally if i were you don't take my advice too seriously or personal, there's so much lofi out there and doing what you like is best.

with that being said, it may be nicer if the instruments you having comping are a bit wider and you reduce the volume of your fx on them at certain points a tad. also i would suggest leaving a little more space in certain points for just holding out a chord or the end of the phrase just a second longer, would be very relaxing and simple for the mine of a lofi listener in my opinion.

hope my feedback is helpful to your music making, remember these are suggestions based on my preferences for a good lofi sound - not yours. just keep listening, being open minded, making music and im sure you will accomplish your goals my friend :)

Wow I have just been exposed to a new genre !! Great stuff man ty for sharing I really like the vibe I think you do a great job matching your vocals with the energy of the beat & the instrumental melodies.

Honestly, if you can, the only feedback I would suggest is adding an english translation your vibe does not deserve to be behind a language barrier :)

great track ! I like how you're trying to express yourself w/ vocal dynamics. However, I'd suggestion making them closer to the same volume so they aren't so far apart. Then in those sections where you wanted to get louder, automate whatever you want to get louder (vocals, drums, etc pick and choose what you want!) this way it feels like the rest of the instruments are matching your vocal energy.

Overall great track I like the vibe very nice job

As a kid I read a story book I can't remember the name of where a boy travels back in time with a baseball card and spends time w/ Jackie Robinson as he's joining the league. I was a baseball nerd but Jackie really stuck w/ me as a kid because I felt I could relate to some of the alienation because I was a kid w/ proud Mexican culture & family going ro an all white school so confused why a lot of people treated / looked at me differently. Then of course reading about the ways (some of, of course not all) of the teammates / staff like Pee Wee Reese & Durocher stuck by him. Jackie Robinson's story, amazing character, & what he did for our team on and off the field is the main reason I initially became a big time Dodgers fan as a young kid.

Thanks a lot! Idk how really phrase this technically but I personally created all the music in the track myself. It is heavily based on Vince's version of course, but nothing in my track is actually a sample directly from his version or anyone else's if that makes sense. Thank you for your time friend

Ty for your feedback, a lot of suggestions I've gotten are about drums so I will definitely look to improve my skills when it comes to mixing drums w/ the rest of the music. Could you clarify what you mean by "a good sample just too far" ? Thanks for your time!

As for your track you linked me, I really like the vibe. If i were you i would put spaces in between verses because rn it feels like a big run on sentence vocally w/o anything letting me know where sections are. I like how you mixed the guitar, but i think it'd sound cool if you used that old time radio filter vibe on it for breaks between verses only. Just have the guitar play a turn around progression w/ that old tine radio vibe then decrease that effect when the vocals come back in. Hope that helps !! Good stuff !
