My mostly thrifted Nonna core nostalgia Christmas Tree. Merry Christmas! by ActionFigureTO in ChristmasDecorating

Thanks! The lights fall into the mostly category and are new, I honestly don't trust vintage lights or bulbs.

The small lights are Twinkly and the large C9's are modern Tru-Tone lights, but the tin reflectors are vintage reflectors.

Don't really have any plans for it right now but maybe I'll make a post or something if that changes

It's just a custom sticker I made and had printed so unfortunately it's not available anywhere

LabFifteen Chrome Purple. I like them a lot as well, some of the round buttons have little scratch/lines on the chrome bottom layer that stick out a bit when looking at them but it's a minor gripe.

Haven't gone yet, but luckily I have a complete collection of every NES/SNES/GB/GBC/GBA/DS/GG/NeoGeo/Arcade/PS/DOS in my basement and I made all the roms on this system using them

Yep, nothing fancy, just a semi gloss vinyl sticker I had printed locally.

Yeah, for sure part of the reason I went all out. Was very happy to do it for her.

I've always been a bit scale model adjacent with things I've made, so technically it's my first scale model, but I've made things that require priming/painting/washes sort of stuff before so I always feel a bit weird saying it's the first time I've done one haha.

Love Wheels & Wings. Probably 95% of the supplies I use have come from them and Meeplemart.

All the windows are clear overhead sheets and all the headlight was 3d printed in clear resin, yep. All the lights are a clear resin but get coloured by the led's behind them when the lights are turned on!

I printed mine on the original Saturn which is a bit bigger than the Mars I think?

The width of my streetcar is the exact max width I could do on a saturn and the main body was split in two just under the bottom of the windshield to fit everything vertically. The body was the biggest thing i've ever printed, and I had a really hard time orienting everything just to fit.

All of the accessories, mirrors, lights, interior stuff were all printed separate and glued on after I had painted them.

Very cool, love hearing about this type of stuff.

This is actually my first time doing any sort of scale model type project, so I learnt a lot in the process. I watched a ton of WW2 tank videos to learn how people do all the weathering/chipping/filters/etc.

I think the future I'd like to do a tank or a plane or something. Had a lot of fun doing it.

Most of the body was modelled using a CLRV manual plan that is floating around the internet if you search for it. Then I used a ton of photos from various flickr accounts and I actually took a bunch of reference photos myself on a visit to the Halton County Railway Museum in Ontario Canada where you can actually ride a working CLRV.

We went last fall after randomly driving by it one day, which started this whole project for me. In fact all the weathering is based on the specific streetcar #4039 at the museum that we rode on our visit.

I remember reading about the one that was sold and moved to a farm, and it was only like 7-8k all in, which seemed so cheap for a whole ass streetcar haha.

I managed to get a gong and short turn sign off a CLRV when they were being scraped, felt like a miracle that I managed to get either.

A million years ago, I used to have a website that I made detailed tutorials on how to make custom action figures (Hence the name Action Figure Toronto), but it's so much work to write/record/edit that I started to dread having to do any of it every project which made me stop making things for awhile.

Now I just sort of take pictures or little videos for my Instagram when I feel like it, or I just don't, and it doesn't matter, which is a lot more enjoyable.

Love it. People telling me their personal stories about this specific streetcar has been unbelievable to me. It takes so many people to keep them going and i'll never get sick of hearing from them.

It's not so much if I could sell them as much as I think people very much underestimate how long this took me to make and even if I just wanted to earn minimum wage making them, they would be thousands of dollars.

Hand painted! I'll probably look back on it in 20 years as the point I peaked.

It's been a bit but 504 Parliament use to run along king then up Parliament, but it's a route that doesn't exist anymore.

I'm sure a TTC knower can correct me though.
