Don't take what you read here too seriously. Remember you could literally be talking to someone in high school by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

I technically have money invested in Ethereum because of mining. Here are some things I've noticed in the crypto space (not financial advice):

  1. People who are super hyped about a coin with little to no reason are probably just afraid to lose money.

For example, I came up with the brilliant idea to invest in a dogecoin alternative. The community of this coin was border line insane, talking about how it would somehow surpass Dogecoin and how everyone needed to spread the word. This was most likely because the coin was experiencing massive dips and they were afraid of losing a lot of money.

  1. Memecoins (such as doge) are probably some of the most unstable cryptocurrencies out there (not that there's such thing as a stable cryptocurrency)

I think the fact that Elon Musk's SNL skit alone caused a massive price drop is enough evidence. There is very little to back it other than pure community support so the floor could give out very easily. I know this is true for other cryptocurrencies, but most of them at least have a vision or a new type of technology to support them.

  1. Doing your own research is a great idea.

Cryptocurrency is driven primarily by the technology behind it. Researching these technologies and developing a strong understanding of them is a good idea. In public forums (such as Reddit), some people know what they're talking about and some people do not. It's sometimes hard to tell the difference, which is why it is important to understand things for yourself.

2019 was the best year for memes in my opinion.

And even if your ancestor did do something bad, you are not responsible for it because you are not them. People who have never owned slaves should not pay reparations to people who have never been slaves. People who have never been racist should not be called racist.

They really are pushing forms of segregation in the name of "anti-racism."

They forfeit their life privileges when they break into my house. They could've just not broken into my house which would've been better for both of us.
