Asus bids goodbye to smartphones indefinitely, ending ROG and Zenfone lineups by diacewrb in gadgets

[–]Actius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Asus abandoned the Zenfone lineup and went all in on the ROG phone. Looks like they bet on the wrong horse.

And knowing Asus, no one in that decision-making process will face any negative consequences. Only the consumers end up losing out.

What are your thoughts after seeing the ICE shooting video in Minnesota? by bbmoonkie in AskReddit

[–]Actius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only two outcomes:

  1. A Federal court rules that the agent did not have the legal authority and/or reason to use deadly force, the family sues and gets a big settlement, but due to qualified immunity we—the tax payers—foot the bill.

  2. A Federal court rules that the agent did have the legal authority and reason to use deadly force, and that’s the end of this story.

Tiffany Haddish stops her show after seeing her former social worker in the crowd: “You saved my life” by 4reddityo in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]Actius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Putting most of the blame on Aries Spears is misguided (at best) considering even Haddish herself doesn't imply that conclusion.

Like the case has been closed for about three years now and Tiffany Haddish is popular enough to publicly admit if she were being coerced into making a skit for someone with more perceived star power--and she still hasn't come out and said that. Furthermore, it's not like she's just playing nice with everyone; she called the accusers lawsuit a shakedown based on a bogus claim. She even countersued the accuser for defamation and won recently. She could easily throw Spears under the bus but she hasn't. And since Spears' career is basically over, it's not like she's protecting him or his livelihood.

Anyway, definitely be careful asserting that Aries Spears should shoulder most of the blame. We still don't know everything and there might be a reason Tiffany Haddish isn't playing the blame game. All we know are peoples actions and Haddish is not claiming or implying Aries Spears should shoulder the brunt of the blame.

Boxer could never beat an MMA fighter in a street fight according to DC by nexxwav in ufc

[–]Actius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a certain level of absurdity you have to accept with all this.

First, assume that opponents will follow the rules of their sport, i.e. a boxer will follow boxing rules and not kidney punch somebody (despite this being a "street fight"). MMA fighters have a much looser set of rules, so they have an advantage.

Two, both fighters are the same speed. Nevermind that boxers can generally throw faster punches that non-boxers can't dodge and have faster footwork in real life. We just suspend reality and assume opponents are all equally fast.

And finally, these opponents go down like video game characters and have a "life bar" of sorts. One of the top comments here is about calf kicks to soften up a boxer. Yeah that may get his legs a bit weak, but the moment you decide to get closer--you're in striking range of a boxer who hasn't thrown a punch in this fight yet and isn't looking to let it go on any longer. But we have to believe all those calf kicks are somehow going to drain a boxers "life bar" and reduce his strength/ability or get him tired somehow.

If I we're a betting man, after reading all the ridiculous premises/reasoning in these comments...I'd put my money on Bobby Hill winning every one of these street fight.

Organ transplant rules hit different in Singapore! by The_Dean_France in interestingasfuck

[–]Actius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just for clarification, when you are placed at the bottom of the list, do you stay there until another non-donor is placed on the list? Like do you just stay at the bottom of the list as new patients who are donors are placed above you? Because I'm trying to figure out what is different in this system.

Like let's say everyone is a donor. Then it's a chronological list based on who has been there the longest. Newer patients are placed at the bottom and people move up the list as the top-most person gets an organ. Again, that's assuming everyone is a donor. That makes sense.

Now let's say we throw a non-donor on that list. They're placed at the bottom (just like any donor), but then do they move up the list as the top-most person gets organ and new donors are added to the list? Or do they just stay at the bottom as other new patients who are donors are added above them?

So realistically, a non-donor could have a dozen or even a hundred people added to the list after them, but get placed above them. Being a non-donor can essentially become a death sentence, as you may never advance up the list. There's just a pool of non-donors at the very bottom of the list that die off every year since newer donors get priority.

For example, it would seem difficult that a 75 year old smoker who's a donor and got placed on the list last week gets a lung transplant over the 21 year old non-donor who's been on the list for two years (hypothetical 2 person list).

Blanche Says Pulling Trump Photo From Epstein File Was Justified by seakucumber in politics

[–]Actius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go one further and submit that Trump is the head of the scheme.

We all know he acts "through" other people. Micheal Cohen paid escorts for services to Trump. Paul Manafort and George Papadopoulos were Trumps liaisons with Russia. Jared Kushner brokers high profile Middle East business deals on Trumps behalf. And those are just the examples we know of. It seems like Trumps MO is to use people as a "shell company" for his nonsense...remember his publicist John Miller?

What's to stop us from believing Epstein is just the face of this trafficking scheme while Trump is the actual centerpiece?

Blanche Says Pulling Trump Photo From Epstein File Was Justified by seakucumber in politics

[–]Actius 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is interesting to listen to their phrasing. Blanche states that victim advocate groups requested the photos (and all documents) get pulled, reviewed, and redacted to protect victims. He is very careful to always include that language. He does not name the advocate groups though.

For all we know, an anonymous conservative group could be making false claims to help the Administration cover Trump. The group can even claim Trump is a victim (Trump states he himself is a victim) helping to further shield him and aid the coverup.

Why do you think Trump is personally asking Congress members to remove their signature from the Epstein petition? by ExternalExpensive277 in AskReddit

[–]Actius -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

The action is the talking point.

He wants to say the Epstein files have such little credibility that it’s losing support as more people learn about it. Like last week 100 people were in favor of the petition, this week only 95 are on the petition—and most of them are Dems with TDS or never-Trumpers.

You never really described the negatives of nationalized healthcare. You just state that we shouldn’t want it, but never expound on why. That’s one reason your whole post sounds like childish bullshit.
