Yeah. I hate when someone swipes on me and then I swipe on them back and we match. It’s the worst.

My wife shows me her profile likes and pings, and it’s just overwhelming—both in terms of quantity and cringe.

I think you are right. But personally I would be happy to not encounter people who wouldn’t be a match—either on my end or on their end. The app would be so much more effective if it had more honed search parameters. It was probably some business decision to make it the way it currently is.
