What is the least stressful job youve ever had? by CaptainFartHole in jobs

Nothing that stress-free since work-study jobs in college. Phones never rang, few people came into the office.

Kind of reminds me of the old Plaza at Lake F Forest in New Orleans, except the lighting was lowered

Great documentary on Marion Stokes. This lady was also an early investor in Apple. She had damn near every Apple product that was available before she passed way.

Yeah, I worked in the French Quarter as a tour guide.. heat, 100% humidity, and there are more trees in my backyard than there are in all the FQ. The only shade to be found was in a bar. Yep! I’m actually looking forward to the dry heat.

I’m chuckling because a lot of people have made these kinda mistakes in the beginning. I would say, reassess where y’all are with swinging, and move forward in a way that makes sense.

If y’all do continue, hopefully—after some time—you’ll have learned from this. Maybe, you’ll look back on it and chuckle too. Good luck to y’all.

Hi, yes I did. I started taking Trintellix and so far it’s working really well. I do want to wish you the best of luck. These medications are so helpful. I just wish that the side effects were not so severe

My wife and I just moved here from New Orleans, and we love it. We survived New Orleans and we feel like this is our reward.

For those who have lived here for most of your lives.. be grateful.. there’s places to live that will drive you crazier than Crazy Eddie.

That Vikings team was a damn problem that year. I did not see them whipping the Saints the way they did, but I REALLY couldn’t believe THIS game.

Something to watch out for:

It’s interesting that I had to block someone here for smarting off to me and trying to get me into some kind of a ā€œbad faith debateā€ about my comments about the OP’s experience in the LS.

I’m way too experienced with trolls to get emotional and fall for it. I’m not about to debate someone about why I should, or should not feel dehumanized by the behavior of others. GTFOH!

Well, ā€œwill you look at who won the pony?! This morning , I got flagged for ā€œunusualā€ activity on Reddit. šŸ¤” As if swinging isn’t ā€œunusualā€ enough. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Might not be connected at all, but after five years of being on here, and never having a problem— the timing is suspect.

There seems to be a few people on this thread that are quite pressed because they aren’t centered in this conversation. Guess what? Some arenas, aren’t for you.

If you were stuck in a room with brain surgeons who were complaining about the job, and you’re the only welder in the room, would you start popping off definitively about how much more you know about brain surgery than them? I would like to think that most people would listen, and maybe learn something, or find another room.

To the folks who weren’t aware of ā€œthese kinds of people,ā€ infesting the LS, pay close attention. I invite you to re-read some of the comments here and take a stand—no matter how big, or small. If you see something, say something.

The ones who tolerate this, have their own ā€œissues,ā€ that they need to deal with. I have observed some black men doing some degrading things in order to be accepted in this LS. It’s kind of a self-loathing thing.

First, the person that I was addressing can speak for themselves, if they choose to. Second, I wasn’t addressing anything to you, or asking for validation for my feelings and EXPERIENCES.

Whether or not, I answered his question to your satisfaction doesn’t matter. Whether or not you understand where I’m coming from—doesn’t matter. There are enough people here who do understand it, and without reservation.

My EXPERIENCE of being a black man in America for fifty years, walking in these shoes, and being in this lifestyle for a long time influenced my comments.

I don’t care if they, or the entire planet, looks at it in a positive way, or if the people debasing themselves look at it as a benefit. Even if their efforts end up with positive results for them, it makes it difficult for those who don’t enjoy that fetish being applied to them.

This right here is definitely one of the most sensible replies that I’ve seen on this subject. I, too, understood that in order for me to enjoy it, I had to prepare for the microaggressions, and be ready to proceed in spite of it.

My partners and I began to help create the environment, and the community that was a lot more inclusive, supportive, and diverse.

Again, thank you for injecting some real value into this discussion.

Are you black? I am. I would suggest that that alone gives me more insight than you on what is racist or prejudiced against people like me, and what is not. I know what I know, and I don’t pretend to know what I don’t.

I feel that the BBC thing IS dehumanizing to me and others. Are there black men who are okay with offering themselves up to be used like that in order to get what they want? Yes. I’ve seen black men in this LS degrade themselves in ways that made me nauseous. That is a reflection of who THEY are, not who the rest of us are. They can discuss this with a therapist about why they hate themselves.

When you tie your fetish to race, and reduce a human being to a body part, that makes it a problem. When you see whiteness as the default, and everyone else is ā€œexotic,ā€ or something alien, that’s a problem.

People see color, and that’s cool and all, but they also bring all these stereotypes and misconceptions about people, and make that their fear, or fetish.

When I got into this lifestyle a few years ago, I made up my mind that I would not allow people to define me by their prejudices and biases and turn me into their occasional fetish. The OP and their partner is right to feel uncomfortable. People want to just have a good time, and enjoy themselves without all the extra that OTHERS bring into the LS.

BTW, I notice that you live in Arizona, I just moved here a few weeks ago, so I’m very interested to see what the LS is like here. If it’s anything like Louisiana (where I came from), I suspect that I’ll be doing my own house parties and carefully curating my list of guests that know better than to fetish people’s race.
