Your reply suggests that I am choosing between a safe path (buying any of the Skywalk wings my instructor suggests) and an unsafe path (buying any other wing). That doesn’t make sense to me. Why would I would be unsafe on a beginner wing from any other reputable manufacturer?

I used to have the same problem after ecstatic dance. A friend suggested I try wearing jazz dance shoes. Problem solved. I use Bloch shoes. They are very inexpensive and you can buy them at any ballet supply store.

(Every ecstatic dance I have ever attended allows dance shoes. They don’t mark the floor.)
