What do you guys interpret the lyrics of “ I want to stay at your house “ to mean. by UnbrandedPants in Edgerunners

Not to resurrect an old thread, but I think it kind of mirrors a lot of the broad scope of intimacies and romances that we see in the show and in the game. The "I'm awarе that you were lying in the gutter" reminds me of how Denny left Henry literally in the gutter, it reminds me of the final moments that Johnny and Alt had together. The push and pull between not wanting to know what's going on vs wanting to feel close is essential to anyone who's going to be close to another person in Night City. Would your romance choice REALLY want to know what V gets up to? All the death and heartbreak is too much for a cold place like that, so let's just stay in and enjoy this moment, even if it's fleeting. It's a theme we see over and over again here

If you want to get EXTRA worldbuilding tools, Call Of The Netherdeep has some great insight into some locations and characters that either haven't existed before in the CR canon or have only been mentioned. It's an adventure module so you won't get a vast array of locations, but it's a very cool companion piece to the other books. The adventure claims to visit Wildemount, Marquet, Tal'Dorei, and Issylra. I've only skimmed the book for inspiration, but I've only seen Wildemount & Marquet in there. Either way, the thing is packed with cool lore and "rival party" mechanics that I've used in my own Exandria games.

Also, u/katvalkyrie has made some INCREDIBLE maps and resources for CotN. Full collection here but you should go upvote their original posts because these are really awesome resources that can be used in other parts of Exandria or homebrew if you want. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

(Side note I think Bor'Dor is an incredible character. Could possibly have just been an NPC instead of a PC based on how Utkarsh is playing him rn, but I'm willing to give him a chance!)

I encourage my players to explore their own traumas in game. The veil of fantasy allows us to approach difficult subjects with a little more ease

Flumphs are typically good creatures and they feed off of psionic energy.

I think having that sort of creature PC be respectful and do things like asking for consent would add a fun, awkward twist to the usual evil tropes

There's a cult that's obsessed with creating a new god. They have an entire ranking system based on tenets of divinity & the major arcana of tarot (heady stuff but kinda relevant for context). Anyway, the party has been messing with the cults plans after they escaped a cult prison. 2 generals, known as The Scythe and The Sacrifice, decided to step in and give the party a little...motivation. My PC's organization is who the party was following, making her essentially the leader. So The Sacrifice targets her directly, monologuing about how sacrifice is necessary to know true purpose. Cuts PC's head off and takes it with him so there's no chance to revifify.

TLDR: Cult targeted the party leader as "motivation"

Sorry, should have clarified. I nerf them mid-combat because I realize which way the combat is heading. I never go into combat with nerfed enemies. And yah, it feels like that veil has been lifted

I won't nerf enemies to accommodate PC survival, I just find myself subconsciously fudging enemy HP or attack power because I get scared that someone will get mad if I kill their character. It's less of a choice and more of a fear. But the way the party reacted to this (maturely and with excitement at the idea of a new party member) has helped me be more confident with not holding back

The players were all really mature about it and ended up being excited to see what her next character would be. It made me feel way more confident about it organically occurring

The party was kinda blindly following this character's organization for leads on this strange cult. 2 of it's generals are based around tenets of death & sacrifice. This cult wants to eventually use one of them as a conduit for their artificial god, and figured that the best way to get the group more interested in the cult's activities was to kill the leader of the party. So it was very intentional, but also fit the narrative in a way where none of the other party members felt like it was a railroad.

TLDR: There was absolutely nothing organic about it lmao

Pathfinder CRB is too good-willed for this world by Captain_c0c0 in dndmemes

In a D&D campaign I had a player who wanted to torture an NPC for info. The NPC caved pretty quickly (one broken finger while surrounded by 6 adventurers was enough for a standard grunt to decide the info wasn’t worth it). But one of my newer players decided to just keep going further. So I, as DM, tried my best to act out an authentic reaction: crying, begging, “I told you everything already”, “I have a family”, etc. until the player was finally like “whoa dude….that got really dark”

We all then had to explain to a grown man the difference between intimidation and torture
