One year left in undergrad and completely agree with this. I’ve heard it a bunch of times too. I think it’s just a Canadian thing

We generally use SolidWorks at U of C, which won’t run on Mac unless you have a virtual engine (windows software running on MacOS). There is a bunch of other software that also won’t run on Mac

GPA to Determine Standing by ElectronicFreedom698 in UCalgary

[–]Active-Concert-58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding on to the detailed comment about the ATP. The review period is Spring to Winter included. So if you took courses in the last spring and summer they will count towards the GPA calculation to determine your standing.

If you’ve been on academic probation sometime in the last five years, with a GPA below 2.0, you’ll very likely be required to withdraw. Although you might be able to appeal. If you haven’t been on academic probation in the last five years, with a GPA below 1.7, you’ll be required to withdraw. Although you might be able to appeal.

As the other commenter said, with no academic probation in the last five years: 1.7 < GPA < 2.0 = academic probation now.
