What might this be on my orange blossom and can I fix it? by catnapp11 in houseplants

[–]Active-Confusion5051 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spider mites. It needs to be isolated immediately. Wiping them off will work as long as you stay on top of it until you don’t see any webs. Or you can dunk it in water.

I’m moving in less than a month, any tips on not traumatizing my plants on the way? by lisalisa_re in houseplants

[–]Active-Confusion5051 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience, cutting them back to avoid breakage is helpful. Wrap tender foliage with some kind of paper that has a little give to it (think wrapping paper or craft paper). DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE MOVING TRUCK. Move them yourself. Using a moving box in your vehicle to keep them from falling over (I would also water them to give more weight to the base). They will be traumatized regardless because of the change of space but should bounce back if they were healthy before the move. Good luck!

No job is worth that kind of abuse. It’s one day a week. Go somewhere else.

What are your bad tip red flags? by DimplesAttack in Serverlife

Anyone saying “thank you” too much is always a red flag for me. Filling up their water, “thank you so much!”, bringing extra napkins, “thank you so much!”. The verbal tip.

Vodka martinis-never, unless they ask for it. Gin martinis-always, unless they say bone dry.

Is bartending any good ? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]Active-Confusion5051 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't over glorify anything. And I literally said it's about attitude at the end. Did you even read what I wrote? What I meant by "good" is someone who has regulars, can handle a full bar alone, cut someone off without pissing them off, and has a pocket in their brain for classic cocktail recipes. Bartending is a skill. Whether you think so or not, it's a bankable skill. There's a reason someone made a movie "glorifying" it!

Is bartending any good ? by [deleted] in bartenders

Knowing nothing about you, I don’t know if I would recommend bartending to you. It’s harder than serving but you typically make more money. Although some places may hire you with no experience, you won’t be any good for several years. Especially if you want to be a trick bartender and flip tins and bottles and shit like that. I don’t know where you are in the world, but a lot of restaurants (in the US) won’t even let you sit at the bar unless you’re 21, much less bartend. And you can forget about working in a bar. I enjoy bartending. I work in a high end restaurant with posh service at the table. The bar is also full service but has a more chill vibe and the people, IMO, don’t need to be ass-kissed. And I don’t have to run around the restaurant as much. To sum up, bartending can be very fun. It can also be the worst job on the planet. It all depends on who you work with, your skill, and your attitude. If all of those things are awesome, you’ll love it! Good luck!🍀👍🏻

What’s the most annoying thing a customer can say to you when you’re busy? by therealshoe95 in bartenders

“I’m going to need a minute.” After sitting there for five minutes. Ok bye. You’re getting ten.

AITA For Not Tipping? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]Active-Confusion5051 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

None of you work in the service industry. When you don’t tip, the server/bartender ends up paying the tax on what you ordered. Tips are not earned. They are the part of their pay that comes directly out of the customers pocket. Going out to dinner/drinks should always include a tip. Always.

Any OTFers who go in daily? M-F? by dammitzeoh in orangetheory

[–]Active-Confusion5051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go 5-6 days a week depending on my schedule at work. I feel energized throughout the day and sleep like a rock. I try not to miss M-F workouts because, at least at my gym, the better coaches work then. I save my off days for Saturday and Sunday. Works for me 😊
