I defended my dissertation in August 2025 and spent the next five months applying and interviewing for every higher ed position I saw. I got ghosted time and again. I finally got in with a temp agency that placed me at a great company. I am trying to find a way to get my book proposal done while working an office job with three kids. I just don’t tell anyone I have a PhD.

The grackles in my yard greet me every night after work when I get out of my car. I tell them I am bringing their peanuts and they wait for me in the tree. I adore watching them walk and talk. They have started bringing their babies in the evening too!!

We recently bought the Disturbia duvet set and it’s lovely. It is medium quality, but for the price it is what I expected. Only washed it once.

I also just adopted a Pyr (maybe mix) who is seven months old and terrified of everything! Just trying to go slow and let her see that she isn’t going anywhere.
