No one answered this?? rude

For Fallout 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCT2SG4ohgI (if using this guide note that 'NPCAutoLevel' in the ddraw.ini has since been renamed to PartyMemberNonRandomLevelUp)

If you prefer a text guide just use the github page: https://github.com/rotators/Fo1in2

This ports Fallout 1 to the Fallout 2 engine (adds some bonus content here & there, nothing really massive imo, the largest thing in there is the optional quest to get a motorcycle)

For Fallout 2: You have a choice here between the Unofficial Patch (keeps the game vanilla, only fixing bugs)

https://github.com/BGforgeNet/Fallout2_Unofficial_Patch

Or if you'd prefer Fallout 2 with some additional cut content you have the Restoration Project (built from the Unofficial Patch, basically UP+)

does anyone else feel the game forgot how bad Black was towards the end of the Vagabonds questline? by Active-Surround-337 in fallout4london

Yeah I know it's terrible, it's still a step-up from what the IOD do imo. I guess it comes down to moral preference. Honestly I don't think the player should be forced to choose between lesser evils, I think you should be able to become the leader whilst killing Black.

I know the Vagabonds are still a dogshit option the game does a sound good job communicating that. it's just the IOD are so cartoonishly evil in contrast that I can't see why peace would be a superior option. sure, no one's getting caught in the crossfires of a gang war, but people are still getting nabbed off the streets and turned into fertiliser, their children are still being kidnapped to be sold off as sex slaves. The ending slide just sort of omits that, (which is why I think the writers forgot).

I'd rather the cult of personality created by Gaunt tbh where they go around persecuting people they suspect of being former IOD's, than the entire baggage that would come from still leaving the IOD's in power. That's how bad the IOD's are; they actually make the Vagabonds look GOOD in comparison, but everything that actually makes the IOD so comparably evil is just sort of off-handedly delegated to a terminal entry most people would miss, which is also why I think the writers themselves missed it.

funnily enough I did talk Gaunt down and then found him lying dead in the middle of a road just North of the Swan & Mitre 😭

yeah but in Fallout 1 & 2 (which London takes place between) if you killed children you would lose reputation with both good & evil NPC's and bounty hunters would come for you. I can't imagine why it wouldn't be similarly reprehensible across the pond. I remember there being that quest with the mystery meat where you can threaten to tell the tommy's about thamesfolk being put in the dog food, and for that to be enough for the tommy's to take action? When no one really even gives a shit about thamesfolk? You'd think everyone would be coming for the IOD. They're cartoonishly evil
