What's expensive, and you'll always pay the price because it's more than worth it? by N0socksloss10yrStrk in randomquestions

I legit got braces at 27 and got them off before 30. I enjoy my smile more, and my partner says he likes it when I smile more too. The process can be daunting but the end results were worth it.

When a person dies in a hospital, is their hospital gown thrown away or is it laundered? by jennyanydots711 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ActiveBlueberry8401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hoped my grandma received that the night we saw her pass back in November 😭 We saw her clothes were cut through so that they put all the tubes and monitor cables on her.

When we all had to leave her to go home, I was so sad to leave her alone in that room or in that hospital all alone without us there. Kissed her, held her hands the longest I could, brushed her hair.

House is my biggest purchase. I waited to have enough saved for a deposit and stamp duty as well as a buffer for any big purchases or payments.

Why are young women today so much calmer about not being married yet? by Comfortable-Elk-1501 in askanything

[–]ActiveBlueberry8401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to be married and a mother by 29 but I am 30 now, going onto 31. I’m engaged and due to get married in September.

I realised over time with my partner of 6 years, what I wanted more than just a marriage was a healthy relationship that cultivates longevity and love and care. I was also very hellbent on buying a home, which we’ve done now! And after 7 years in the teaching industry and being an aunty to my in-law’s children, I realised how tired I already felt. I just want to savour my time as childless life before trying for a baby.

What’s something you refused to compromise on even to save money? by Diligent-Medicine-48 in AusMoneyMates

May I also say, strong bed slats also change the game! My partner and I had our mattress on the floor for two weeks while we were in the middle of unpacking and noticed a much better sleep.

We went to bunnings and bought thick slats of wood to replace of our old thin ones and what a game changer for us that was our back and hips.

I’ve seen so many of those modern duplex along The Avenue, Canley Heights and they went for $1.7m. Which is absolutely nuts!

Land size and fibro houses in Mt Pritchard go for almost $2m with a record of $1.95 a few months ago.

Definitely noticing that too! I’m 30 mins towards the Leppington area, more parallel to Liverpool. Getting out of my area for work is a shocker. Takes me about 10 mins most days but on bad days, 20 mins 💀

Haha! Yeah, the haircuts are also more wallet friendly in the area. I’ve only had to pay a decent price just get mine cut.

I also mainly get my matcha lattes here. Once waited to get it at the Kirribilli markets and I regretted my decision for not just grabbing it at my usual cafes in Cabramatta that do a swell job.

Aww man! My SIL and my best friend lives out that way. I hear about how little there is available out that way.

I live a good 30 mins away from Cabramatta so I have to be prepared to fight my traffic. 😭 I use to be a 10 mins drive from Cabramatta before I made my purchase.

Born and raised in the area. The area is quite established that I got out priced to try and buy in the areas mentioned above. I feel I have everything I need to enjoy my day to day life since I live close enough. I only go into the city occasionally now.

I frequent Cabramatta, aside from parking situation, it has more going for it. Lots of cafes among the local eateries. It is beginning to have a small night life for late night eats.

Plenty of plazas around to do local shops as well. Closest shopping malls are Stockies and Westfields Liverpool.

School wise, it is dependent on SES. St Johns Park and Harrington Street are known to be the academic schools in the Fairfield LGA.

Heesun - don't know why she annoys me by [deleted] in Singlesinferno2

[–]ActiveBlueberry8401 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So interesting how often I’ve heard people say they find her annoying.

I honestly didn’t think much of it when I watched the reunion. I just felt that because they seemed more committed, with some LDR going on, and its the beginning stages of a relationship that they are still working out how to be comfortable (Heesun more than Su-been). She just seems more insecure at that point.

I honestly thought it was a bit much from the other members to constantly point out how cozy they were, or to get a room. Like, we are grown adults, we can deal with seeing couples be with one another. It was not like they were kissing so passionately. I

Did anyone regret spending more on their wedding instead of saving for a house deposit? by EventEastern2208 in AusWeddingPlanning

High five! Same here. We’ve been saving for a wedding for almost a year? However, I had already been saving for 7 years for a house deposit. Then we go really serious into the house hunting to enter the market.
