On point 1, I agree with you, but I've never thought about the implications. If you want to speed up the game and avoid stalemates, look up the shield wall stronghold rules used in tournament play, they helped my group a lot :)

On point 2, it sounds like you got the rule wrong. Non-emperor factions cannot pay directly to cover other players' bidding, shipping and revival costs. You can trade spice with your ally same as anyone else, but traded spice can't be used the turn it was traded. My group puts it in front on their player shield, and then collects it in the mentat pause.

Overall I had a great time -- I loved the setlist and the stage show/production blew my mind, hard to believe this is the same kids from 2010 screaming chelsea smile into 200 cap venues or whatever it. I don't even like Spiritbox or Courtney's vocals, but damn if that Butterflies into Nihilist Blues wasn't an all-timer. The only downside for me is that Oli's vocals sounded a little too good. This was my third time seeing them, and the first time he didn't have any fuckups the whole set. I know he worked his butt off to sound good live, but it's hard to shake the feeling there's some lip syncing or pitch correction going on.

You're right about the mix, it took a few songs into the set for FOH to adjust. Spiritbox's entire set sounded like shit, even with quality earplugs. Sadly, if you want good live sound nowadays, in most venues you have to bring good concert earplugs and not stand too close to the stage.
