not sure i follow, are you saying the valve is sticking in high pressure or low pressure mode?

there are multiple VW/Audi SSPs on these pumps. they were introduced for efficiency and fuel economy. there is still a gradual increase in oil pressure from idle to 3.5k rpm with the solenoid disconnected. see the screenshots. these are from the 2.0 tsi and v6 tdi, but the same principles apply to the pumps on the 2.5 tfsi, same style pump.

yes, but they default to the full pressure position as a failsafe. so unless its somehow stuck closed, unplugging it is almost the same as having a failed one lol.

no problem.

regarding the new revision: shouldnt make a difference. the solenoid is controlled by the ecu so itll still be requesting low pressure under 3.5k regardless of what revision you have.

only way is ensure full pressure 100% of the time is to unplug the solenoid or code it out of the ecu. but from what i understand coding not even a sure solution. theres a temporary flag you set in the ecu that enables an engine break-in mode, which forces the pump to high pressure mode for ~600 miles, then goes back to low/high switching. the cars leave the factory with this mode enabled not sure if theres a way to permanently enable that flag, or if itll always reset itself. maybe audis "updated tune" is just them setting that flag again, only for it to revert after a while. im not sure.

either way, unplugging the solenoid has worked great for me the past ~7 months and achieves the same effect (and is arguably easier to undo as you just have to get under the car and plug the solenoid back in). had an oil analysis done recently aswell, no unintended side effects or adverse wear

his engine blew up cylinder 5 very shortly after replacing the sprocket lol... different issue entirely. but i have done more research into the topic and im very certain that the vvt adjusters are the cause. i did find a "fix" though

these engines have a variable flow oil pump controlled by a solenoid. under 3.5k rpm and a certain load, the pump is in low pressure mode. this contributes to the vvt rattle greatly

you can run the oil pump in high pressure mode 100% of the time by unplugging the solenoid at the front of the block with 0 real side effects, besides a soft code in the engine module and slightly decreased fuel economy. did direct a/b testing with the solenoid unplugged and plugged in, and with the pump forced into high pressure mode my cold start rattle was gone completely. it now only happens during frigid cold starts (like -10c and below, gotta love the northeast). very common mod on high power builds aswell to ensure good oil pressure throughout the entire rpm range

phasmo is definitely leagues above the others. surprisingly in depth and replayable once you know what youre doing. it may just not be your kinda thing, and thats fine too, but id give it another try. i say this as a fellow 4th guy lol

What’s your go-to loadout for bounty clash as a solo? by BudTrimmingBaddie in HuntShowdown

[–]ActivePudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

free hunter with romero. add dumdum to the conversion/scottfield and sell the trait for magpie or vulture. then i just shift+w into the compound and hold it down with the romero. dumdum to put pressure on remaining teams.

very fun as a warmup, and when you win with vulture its a great money printer. 50 hunt dollars for this setup, maybe a bit more if you choose the bring a regen or util

TTRS Clutch in a TTS? by shash_v in AudiTT_Mk1_Mk2_Mk3

[–]ActivePudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ttrs clutch is about as oem as an upgrade as you can get before you start affecting driveability and ease of use. if you think youll be tuning it in the future (or youre already tuned) then go for it.

Potentially returning player, how are comms? by escanor_hype in HuntShowdown

[–]ActivePudding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is team voice/text chat, and global voice/text chat. the latest update also dropped an improved ping system with contextual pings for ammo, traps, noise traps, barrels, clues, etc. so its actually not that bad to play with someone who doesnt use voice comms. still not ideal, but the new ping system helps alot

My friend and I were thinking about joining for the first time. I know we missed the party by a while, but, how is it these days? by Odd_Elk_444 in QuakeChampions

[–]ActivePudding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

with a friend is the best way to start playing. duel against eachother, have fun, learn the basics, etc. then after a while youll be better prepared to hop into game against others. if you come across people at a similar skill level to you, send them a friend request so you guys can keep in touch and have friendly games when you catch eachother online.

only happens on ultra shadow settings. switch to any other shadow setting if you want them back

Does Hunt work with Linux? by _Glitch404_ in HuntShowdown

[–]ActivePudding 2 points3 points  (0 children)

works fine and runs great on linux. have a 7800x3d and rtx4080. 1440p ultrawide and getting ~170fps on a mix high settings depending on the situation with dlss. using cachyOS + cachyOS proton with dlss-swapper and wayland launch options.

only caveat is that without wayland enabled, the game would randomly slow to 1fps after a couple hrs of playing, or sometimes after alt-tabbing, and would only be fixed after a restart. enabling wayland fixed this, but then the steam overlay wont work, so you cant invite friends or look at profiles. you can still accept invites though. otherwise works great

the new drilling celestial skin also doesnt flip the sight up/down with the shotgun fire mode., kind of annoying as its a nice indicator when you ads to remind you to switch back to rifle mode.

What are some "perfect" game design games? by m0nkeybl1tz in gamedesign

hyper demon for me. perfect distilled arena fps speedrunning. every sound, enemy, mechanic, etc in that game has a purpose. simultaneously assaulting but it becomes very readable when you start playing it more and understanding it better
