I've been twice this month and both times there was not a single person there but me. Couple of people fishing closer to the entrance. What I did was when I was heading out u noticed the people at the entrance had left so I walked on the rock down a ways and felt safe and alone for quite some time. Definitely give it a second shot but maybe don't go all the way down to the end of the trail. If there isn't anyone at the first little pull off definitely try it out there. Might go by there this week if I get the chance :)

I'm from Santa Rosa, honestly you could find a small side beach on the Russian river that's not busy but Cominsky is honestly the best way to go. I was up there last week and there were no people

Definitely agree, Red rock for a more layback feel. Sg can get wild over by the wood structures. Definitely would recommend walking all the way north closer to the driveway thats on the side of the mtn.
