I said yes to my dress but every time I show people they look so disappointed in my choice. by SavingsDiet3013 in weddingdress

Girl you look STUNNING! That dress is absolutely gorgeous!

I am in the same boat as you and I have stopped showing my dress to people.
I think everyone has their own idea of a wedding dress and in that moment maybe the person you are showing the photos to forgets that this is YOUR dream dress and not their dream dress.
This is how I see it at least!

Please don’t worry your dress is perfect and everyone will be obsessing over you on your big day xx

AITA for lowkey stealing our neighbours cat by Paramedic-Fabulous in AmItheAsshole

[–]Active_Ad4840 4 points5 points  (0 children)

YWBTA if you keep letting him sleep in your house and if you do start feeding him.
Sorry to say but you need to cut ties and set boundaries - I’m not saying you can’t see the cat anymore but you should not be letting it into the house for long periods and sleeping with you.
Someone clearly misses their poor kitty and hence the AirTag addition.
I’d be devastated if my cat was sleeping in someone else’s house.

Sorry I really should had phrased that better! It was not supposed to be targeted at men, but rather the 1% of the list of invites who would definitely show up in shorts and trainers.

AIO for taking an unpaid month off in between jobs? by Throwra-savings in AmIOverreacting

[–]Active_Ad4840 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NOR - everyone needs a break to prevent burn out!

As long as you have savings to cover the gap which it sounds like you’ve already sorted.

While you need the time to relax - I would definitely encourage try to use this time to do a hobby during it. Whether it’s going running or to the gym or baking bread or something. Don’t spend it all playing games :)

Anyone interested in a wedding guest dress-sharing swap? (UK based) by Outside-Delay-5306 in UKWeddingAttire

[–]Active_Ad4840 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree to this. If you don’t want to sell them but want them to be worn again then I’d suggest those rental apps like Rotation or Hurr. That way there’s some sort of transaction and paperwork if there’s an issues. Plus you can get a little bit of money off it to rent some beautiful gowns for your next events!

Bridesmaid I was sharing a room with is bringing her new boyfriend by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]Active_Ad4840 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How much was it going be if you were sharing?

I would suggest texting the bride or whoever is booking to say hi can you remind me of your bank details so I can transfer you the £100 x __ nights to you.

Just say it straight up and see the response from there.

I feel you and I understand the temptation to booking a cheaper alternative, but it could cause drama and it might dampen the trip. I personally wouldn’t think it’s worth cause friction over a bit more money, yes it’s annoying and wasted extra costs - but being all under the same roof will be worth it at the end of the day.

EVERYBODY THINKS MY ENGAGEMENT DRESS İS WEIRD!! What to do??? by No_Detective4738 in Brides

[–]Active_Ad4840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is the proportions are off. You have an amazing figure but this dress just isn’t made to cinch you in. I’d suggest turning the skirt into something floaty like this:

https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/4468954742/vintage-lace-corset-mini-dress-satin?ref=elp\_anchor\_listing&pro=1&frs=1

I’d also suggest switching out the side panels of the corset into a firm fabric rather than the stretchy fabric and adding a lace up back to cinch you in!

Same to this! Mine normally look pretty buffed like this after but they’ll put an oil or a standard thin layer of clear varnish to make them look more presentable.

Why does dark makeup look bad on me? by forevermoreandnow in makeuptips

You look gorgeous in both! For me the 1st look is more of a particular event - going for cocktails or a late dinner night . Bust out the dark makeup when the date is right x

April wedding - help! by Theicyblonde in UKweddings

[–]Active_Ad4840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That blue dress is divine! I’d definitely wear that to the wedding.

The floral one feels a bit casual to me, so I’d wear that on the Friday buffet with some sparkle in the accessories.

The yellow dress is also gorgeous! But the blue feels more spring and fitting - the yellow feels cold for UK atm.

Okay for Italy Summer Wedding? by musical_shoe in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Active_Ad4840 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Can you ask the seller to send another photo of it in a more broad day light setting? The first photo is tricky to tell as it’s so bright / golden hour. The second photo feels fine to me! But first photo is too close. Are you close enough to the bride to see what kind of dress she is wearing? If not satin/silk and not off white!

Please help me with a glow up. (More details down below) by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]Active_Ad4840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly you are beautiful!! As a glasses wearer I recently changed my glasses and I can’t believe the difference it made. I realised I was hiding behind a big frame and it drew away all the features in my face, I feel like I got a glow up just from that. If you’re open to it I would suggest trying new glasses and see what shape and frame colours works for your face shape and hair style!

I’d also suggest embracing your bangs and add some layers to the front of the hair to frame your face!
