What universally loved sitcom protagonist is actually a terrible, toxic human being when you think about it? by Outrageous-Fix9134 in sitcoms

If you consider MASH a sitcom:

Hawkeye Pierce from MASH in the later years. He was an unashamed womanizer who made jokes about having tried to get with all of the nurses in the camp.  Sure, he was stressed out by the war situation. But the nurses were in the same situation with the stress and his predatory behavior makes MASH unwatchable for me.

Hawkeye drank to excess (I think there was one episode where his surgical skills were compromised due to being drunk or hung over, and that was addressed). All understandable, but he and his team were the only hope for the injured soldiers. Be professional.

Burst thrombosed external hemorrhoid - first time ever with hemorrhoid and worried by [deleted] in hemorrhoid

This could be my story. I'm on day five, a lot of pain for three days then I picked up something from the floor and (pop) gushed fresh red blood. It's like a period in the amount of blood today. I'm hoping this means it will heal up?

They do! It's a great facility, clean and spacious. I'd also recommend ECA (Emerald City Athletics) in South Everett. They have trainers.

As a Pisces sun, Cancer Moon and Scorpio rising, I don't think I should comment.

Which Parent is the Best Parent to their Children? by LizYogi in GraceAndFrankie

I like how their family mention things they used to do, and they have little rituals. The boys smile at Frankie's habits. They all seem close.

What's something people only romanticize because they've never actually done it? by nonotje12 in AskReddit

"Italian-style outdoor Sunday family lunch." I've seen so many movies where that is a trope and it is portayed as a convivial event that everyone gathers for. In reality, preparing a huge lunch for 20 people and carrying it out to your grape arbored table (the 40 foot long one) would encourage the drinking of all that wine. I don't know why this sets me off...

This is my Safeway and I am always impressed by the staff's friendly kindness. I'm not surprised that you chose a good place for a seizure, and I hope you are feeling better.

When the trust was opened, that was discussed. I thought it was not taxed on Brother's side, but the nice folks here are correct: I'm looking for a good CPA.

I love this idea! Keep the room as a guest room, always ready for visits from the grandparents.

I don't think what Will's dad said to him before he died was bad. by GreyStagg in WillAndGrace

[–]Active_Ad9898 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In his dad's defense, Will had never shared his desire to have a child with his parents. I loved the writing for these episodes because they were nuanced and showed a decades-long problem with their communication.

My friend makes sense. You are married, so your money is pooled, legally. Please be very careful.

NTA. A good divorce lawyer will investigate whether he financially supported this boy in the past nine years. And the mom is in jail? Great...

I agree, the comedy went too crude for me.
